Secondary cat delete
Soon after buying our AMG GTS, I had the secondary cat delete done. As was discussed on the forums, that deletion resulted in a deeper and a bit louder sound. No raspiness or droning. For the money ($150) it's probably the best mod I've ever done. My question on this forum, as we prepare to get a C43, is whether members here have done a secondary cat delete on their C43s. I'm looking for opinions as to how it changed the sound. I could see where it might not improve the sound on a 6-cylinder engine as it did on an 8.

As far as I know, there is only a pair of cats on the C43 exhaust system and 1 resonator. My C400 also just has a pair of cats but 2 resonators (I've deleted both resonators not cats). The resonator is what you will probably remove and if you remove cats go with catless downpipes. This is for a non-PE exhaust system.
I don't think you will get a deeper tone removing the resonator, just more of the same sound with the C43 mufflers. Can't mimic the V8 sound!

Alex is correct. Only one cat per side of the V6 and deleting the non PE resonator won’t yield much more sound. Unfortunately that V8 growl you have on the GTS is intoxicating without the resonator and won’t sound close to our V6’s.

If you have the performance exhaust, the car comes with a cat per bank, with two pipes connecting into a single suitcase resonator, and then two pipes goes back to the muffler. If you do have the performance exhaust, the best combination if you do not want to deal with any tunes or downpipes, is to cut the resonator and couple it with an ASR module, which keeps the exhaust valves fully open. It comes with a remote, so you can fully open the valve, close it or put it back to stock settings any time you want. No drone, around 25% louder and more crackles and pops.

Start with the ASR module which is just plug and play. If you still want more volume afterwards, do the resonator delete.

So is the OEM PE's flap's position based upon RPMs? Of course after you have hit the sweet switch... And ASR just bypasses to leave fully open?
