exhaust options - anyone get a muffler installed?
so i have been looking at exhaust options for our cars and i am saddened by the limited number of options we have available. and the ones that are available, are quite costly! as much as i want to improve the sound of the factory C450, i dont want to dent the wallet that much for a slight improvement on sound with very little HP gains.
i checked some muffler mfg's to see if they offer anything for our cars, of course they dont, but that doesn't mean they cant be installed.... so i am reaching out to see if anyone has done something custom like this? say maybe a magnaflow or flowmaster muffler replacement only. seems like it would be an affordable route to get a more aggressive tone without breaking the bank. has anyone done anything like this?

EH Exhaust (This 1 is about 2k. They use, from what I can tell, the same design as Armytrix. Single 3inch midpipe instead of 2x 2.5inch)

maybe i should have reworded my post differently, but i guess for a change in tone with not much other benefits, i guess paying between $2000-$6000 seems a little crazy to me. which is why i was questioning the fact of just installing a muffler only, which cost maybe a few hundred? i have used flowmaster and magnaflow mufflers on many other cars to change the tone/sound level with great success while being cost effective.

Did you end up getting magnaflow or flowmaster mufflers on your c450? How does it sound? I got a muffler delete and it has a lot of unbearable drone and kind of lost the original true tone that the stock exhaust had.

I have magnaflow performance mufflers to true duals and X-pipe to 3 inch downpipe on my C400. I haven't heard straight pipe yet but for my car, I love the muffler, it keeps the sound tame, no raspyness, and has a deep idle. I haven't gotten the chance to get any videos but I will try to get some clips.
