Two schools of thought. Baby it for break in period, or ***** to the wall. Mercedes recommends the former.

This. There are modded cars broken in both ways, all running at similar clips. As long as you're not just sitting on highway for 1000mi straight at the same speed, you'll be fine.

I've never adhered to a manufacturer's recommended break-in period but I've always allowed the fluids come up to operating temp before ever being aggressive with the car and it's always served me well.

I somehow made it through the recommended 1500mi going easy; mile 1501 pounded it! Still, I do let it get up to temps before having fun.

My routine with new cars is break it for the first 1000 miles or at least try to. Most of the time I get to 500 or 750 miles. I get an oil change and good to go. Whether it's overkill or not, it's just how i've always done it.

Always allow the engine to break-in as per the manufacture. The break-in helps set the seal about the pistons. A new engine it tight however if you revv it before these set, you will lower the reliability of the engine over time. Plus remember your engine is boosted so it's super important to allow it to breakin.

Save the pain, and follow manufacturer guidelines. God forbid, you have a freak accident and the engine grenades..I can bet one of the first questions asked will be if you followed break in. Its only 1500kms...

So, it is impossible???
And to the OP... Let's be honest...Nobody responding are actually concerned since its not their car. So they will say whatever they want. You should just do what you can afford.

Under warranty it won't matter as long as you haven't tampered with the ECU. And there are two schools of thought both with decent support.

Either way, let the car get up to operating temperature regardless of what your break in method is.

I drive it like I stole and have NEVER had even the slightest issue.

That is definitely not true.
Mercedes Benz Service and Warranty....."The repair or replacement of any “warranted part” otherwise eligible for warranty coverage shall be excluded from such warranty coverage if the vehicle or engine manufacturer demonstrates that the vehicle or engine has been abused, neglected or improperly maintained, and that such abuse, neglect, or improper maintenance was the direct cause of the need for the repair or replacement of the part."
