Help identify cause of squealing noise

Hi guys,

I'm trying to figure out the cause of a squealing noise from my 2017 C43 sedan and was wondering if anyone on this forum has or had similar issues. The noise occurs intermittently when driving off from a parked spot. I've taken the car to the local dealership three times to have them look at it. They've replaced the front and rear brake pads which seemed to have fixed the problem for a few weeks but it's been coming back.

Below is youtube link showing an example. I'll be taking the car back to the dealership but any suggestion would help.

Thanks

My 2017 Sedan does exactly same thing. I’ve had fronts replaced, brought it in the other day for service advisor to hear the noise , he said it might be the sliders , although it’s not a common problem on these cars (his words). I have an apt to bring it in, 2 weeks. Just curious what is the mileage on your car as mine started this issue last summer at around 30000 Kms.

I have just over 20000km on it now, but I started noticing the noise since around 15000km late last year.

From your video it's clearly something rotational, hence the coming and going of the sound as you pull away. If pads have been replaced with no success, my guess would be warped rotors.

Might be little pebbles stuck between the pads and rotors, used to happen to me when I had the m3 and happened to me once on the c43 I had to pull over cause the sound was really obnoxious lol after I hit a little pothole the noise stopped I’m guessing it’s because it caused the rocks to fall out

I also had the same issue. I took apart all four brakes and cleaned them. Applied 3M silicon paste to the rear caliper slide pins as well as MB brake paste to front and rear. Still have some noise on the front driver-side wheel when I turn left at slow speeds, but very rarely. Might need a better cleaning for the fronts. I think it's the pads that are rubbing because of contaminants?

Quick update:
My local dealership tried taking the brake apart and cleaning, replacing the pads, and replacing the rotors during the previous visits but the noise kept returning. The service manager and foreman now thinks the sound is caused by parking brake not releasing properly. They're going to replace the rear calipers to see if that helps. I'll let you guys know when I get the car back.

Hi All, I replaced my rear pads last week, as the sensor came on. I lubricated the slide pins “excessively” and the noise which was exactly as YouTube clip above is completely gone. I followed the instructions in the brake replacement thread and it was a very simple job. The dealership SA suggested it might be those as they have not had a lot of caliper issues. Hope this helps.

The rear calipers were pulled apart and they found a factory defect in one of them. They replaced the defective one with a new one. However, after a week I heard the same noise again... It only occurred once so I'm going to see if it becomes more regular before I take it back to the dealership.
