AMG Transmission temperature?

I've noticed that when the engine oil temperature rises, so does the transmission temperature. But the trans fluid takes much longer to reach its operating temp than the oil does (and way longer than the engine coolant). I imagine there's some kind of heat exchanger for the engine oil, maybe as part of the radiator, but what about the transmission? Is there a trans heat exhanger and/or a thermostat? What keeps the trans from overheating?

Thanks! I'll try to get familiar with that parts catalog. So there's a single dedicated cooler but no thermostat - it's always cooling. Haven't checked but presumably there's an overheat warning light in the inst. cluster.

The temp display that's in the cluster changes from blue (cold) to white when the fluid finally reaches its "warmed up" temp - don't know what that is, but it seems just fine.

I don't recall hearing any cautions about hard driving before the trans is warmed up but suppose any servos and valves could operate more sluggishly.

I actually started a thread on this a while back. I noticed the same thing. When I had my MCT-equipped W204 C63, the engine oil and transmission temperature would reach their normal operating temperatures at roughly the same time.

The transmission definitely takes a bit more time to warm up. Normal behavior. But the good thing is, heat is the enemy of the transmission.

Someone recommended to me starting out in S to help speed things along (without beating on it, of course).

As a reference, on our Porsche GT3 theres written in the manual that the Trans. Temp shouldn't exceed 110 Degrees Celsius.
In a Alpine A110 i testdrove the Company told me the Transmission shouldnt exceed 105 Degrees.

In our Mini JCW with Doubleclutch theres nothing written in the manual and asking around at different engineers that work at Mini they told us everything above 100 degrees should make us slowly "calm down" and that it gets dangerous above 110.

Asking the same Question at AMG for our C43 was basically the same, on the lower end every one i asked told us that if the Transmission Oil Temp is above 60 Degrees Celsius we're free to go hard on it.
Apparently its "the high temps that kill a Trans. not the lows".

FWIW, it was 98 with 114 heat index here in Omaha on Saturday. With spirited driving, oil temps peaked in town at 217F for a few moments after sitting through two cycles of a redlight, but any amount of 20mph+ speed quickly drops that down to regular 207-209F. I even dropped down to 199 while on a 70mph highway cruise a few miles later. I've never seen trans temps above 212F (100C) in any conditions.

I have seen 110 C Transmission temp and 119C Engine temp on a open lapping track day while chasing down another car. I guess if the airflow is good, this should not be a concern? I cooled down within seconds of me backing off.

Noticed similar, the engine hits 70C and goes from blue to white fairly quickly, the transmission is a lot slower to heat up and never peaks as high (although only street driven).
I do think in Sport+ it gets a little more aggressive in the shifting and downshift crackles once the transmission has warmed up

What I have noticed, if I turn off and come back in 2 hours, the engine has given some heat to the transmission.... Engine has cooled, obviously from the 90C's, but the transmission has picked up 10C to be in the 70's. It makes sense, I've never had a car with a transmission temp gauge and seen it firsthand.
