New C43 Owner (coming from a 2013 BMW 335is)

Sup, guys!

Just picked up my 2019 C43 coupe yesterday. Been shopping around for a bit and set up a search engine on Autotrader and got what I think is a really crazy deal. 2019 C 43 coupe in polar white with AMG 19" twin-spoke 5-star wheels, natural grain black ash wood, cranberry red leather, AMG performance exhaust, Multimedia Package, AMG Night Package, Parking Assistance Package with the 360 camera and park assist, heated and ventilated seats, 12.3" digital instrument cluster, wheel locks, illuminated star, 64 color ambient lighting, NFC wireless charging. The car had only 1575 miles on it with a clean carfax! I got it for $49,290 (MSRP was 68K)! It's in pristine condition without so much as a blemish on it. I live in MD but called the dealer instantly and flew out to Texas at 7 am the very next morning with a buddy of mine, bought the car and drove it back to MD. They already had 3 people interested in it and one guy driving over from Houston (if you're that guy, sorry...Kinda..., haha). What do you guys think of the deal?

Coming from a 2013 BMW 335is that I love dearly and had for about 4.5 years. I had it tuned (Stage 2+ and another map at times running 1/4 tank e85 mix putting down 325 whp / 375 wtq). It was time to upgrade and I think that the C43 is a good move. Love the interior and of course that sexy exhaust note that all of you know oh so well. Not sure whether I'll be tuning the C43 just yet. Gonna enjoy her for now and see how I feel in the future. Definitely nice to be able to put down the power cuz of 4matic. 20% tint and blacked-out badges coming soon. I am probably going to swap the rims for a set of Forged rims because I've read a lot of stories about the AMG wheels cracking and bending and there are a lot of rough roads around here. Also, can't wait to get rid of the problematic Conti Sport5s that I've read a lot of horror stories about (sidewalls splitting). If anyone is interested in buying these 19" AMG 5star twin spokes, they only have 3K miles on them now and are in pristine condition (PM me with an offer but know that I pretty much only want to sell them locally).

Now I just gotta sell my 335is. If anyone is interested or know someone that is, drop me a line. It has 81K on it and been very well taken care of (no tracking ever and very well maintained).

Super excited to be here and a part of the AMG family.

Cheers!

Dmitriy

Solid deal for a ‘19. Go for the JB4 if you decide to tinker with power-adds. AS3+ or PS4 for tires depending on if you want all season or dedicated performance tire. Please be sure to comment in the wheel/tire fitment thread with specs when you find the wheels you want to make sure they will fit.

Welcome to the fold

Thanks, Richard! I appreciate the useful bit of info as well. I am definitely considering AS3+ (don't have room for store summer and winter sets and MD can get rough at times). I am researching the threads of the forged wheels now before I ask redundant questions and look like a buffoon.

Congrats! Looks like a great deal to me! My car had 6 miles on it (I ordered it) but I'm still in the "break in" period for the first 1000 miles which is killn me lol. Your car is already broken in! Best of luck and enjoyment with it!

Thank you! I'm in a wheelchair, so I'm waiting for the hand controls to be installed in the next few days and then very much looking forward to enjoying the new ride!

Congratulations on the beautiful new ride! Stunning interior/exterior combination. The diffuser and exhaust tips on the LCI cars are on point.

My '18 C43 sedan was my first white car ever (Polar, like yours). At first, I wasn't sure about it, but it has grown on me tremendously and shows the lines of the car very well without being too difficult to maintain.

Congrats! I'm in a wheelchair also. Was shot 17 years ago. I just throw portable hand controls on my rides though. I'd love to see a picture of your setup after the install.

I also don't like having to swap between summer and winters wheels....live in Jersey and AS3+ have served me well thru the winter months. Lastly if you do decide on a JB4 it's easy to install and remove as all the connections are within reach.

Thank you so much! It's my first white car, as well. I had a black car before (never again) and made sure to filter out the black C43s of which there was no shortage for sale.

Thank you! I had a car accident when I was 20 and have been in a manual wheelchair since. I've had installed hand controls in all of my previous cars (Prelude, G35, 335is and now C43). I will definitely post pictures once they are installed. I have the same guy install them because he does a very neat job without crazy hardware under the steering wheel.

What a time to be alive! It's awesome to hear you two are still able to truly enjoy the spirit of the drive considering your circumstances.

Finally got the hand controls installed yesterday. It's my 4th car with this installer and he always does an A+ job. Just so you understand, portable hand controls cannot compete with these on any level. This system is push to brake, tilt to accelerate. Very responsive and he always tucks it away as neatly as possible so not to interfere with daily driving. You can check out his site here: http://www.drivingaids.com/ No, I don't work on commission, haha. I've known the owner now for 18 years. His business was started by his dad who was an engineer and his other brother used to race and had a bad crash, leaving his paralyzed but he wanted to continue racing, so his dad started the business after seeing what terrible hand control designs were out there. Cheers!

Very nice! I like the way the did yours. I’ve tried a few different permanent controls on my rides but the installs always required some sort of cutting under the wheel.

I am curious how the left hand control is setup. Does the lever control both the brake and gas? If you push it, you brake and if you pull it, can you floor the car all the way?

The link shared by viperx100 actually has description and video of the different models they offer, and how each work. Check it out... it’s pretty cool!

I did describe how it operates as mo11 pointed out, haha. Yes, of course, you can floor it. I didn't buy an AMG to only accelerate half-way. The system is excellent.

Nice, I've driven 335is plenty of times, Very fast car and handles amazing, but I know the launch control in that car can't really put the power down. I raced a friend of mines stock 335 is, The C43 smoked it from a launch.

Yea, my favorite car to date, for sure. On my current tune, it's faster than a stock C43. But you're right, with the RWD and 475tq at the wheels, it lights up the tires 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, so you gotta be precise. C43 just puts it all down with the 4matic. Obviously can't compare the tech and the interior on any level. From the outside looks, 335is still has my heart but I am still putting the pieces together on the C43 (tinted, wrapped the roof and blacked out the badges). We'll see after the black spoiler goes on, chrome delete on the handles (going to wrap black on the chrome part) and put in the black vinyl piece on the side skirts that some C43s have, but my did not, even with the night package. Excitement is definitely here.
