So can anyone tell me if this is normal or something I should tell the dealer about. I financed a 2019 c43 AMG about a week ago. Took it home and parked it in the garage with little interaction. I have a commuter car so I did not really notice until today. I washed my c43 and I noticed that my exterior window trims are different in color. The driver side being black and the passenger side chrome. My car has the AMG night package. Is this something the dealer would reconsider and fix? Driver side with black exterior window trim front and rear. Passenger side with chrome exterior window trim front and rear
this wouldn't be the first time the screwed a car up on the assembly line and didn't catch it going out. Saw mismatched side sills on another members car (but that may have been from replacing the pieces from being damaged during delivery).

Holy ****, bring that back to the dealer ASAP. They should be embarrassed they did not catch this. FYI, I have a white 2019 c 43 without the night package and my window trim is all black.
All c43s should have the black trim around the windows as well as the mirrors should be black. This doesnt change for cars with or without night package. Night package only differs with bits on the front and rear for the most part.

that's only true for 2016-2019 MY 2020 does not follow this scheme.
I have brought up the issue to the dealership and have sent them photos regarding it. I am scheduled to bring the car in for service tomorrow and they may have to keep it for some days which i am totally prepared for, unless if they have window trims in stock *shrugs* im glad i caught this cause i never noticed it at the time of purchase
That's a first! Surprised QC didn't catch that coming off the line nor did the dealer or anyone prepping it for delivery! Glad you're getting it fixed.
Now we are all running out to our garages to check our cars.
That is embarrassing for MB QC.
Took delivery of a '20 GLE450 back in July that didn't have one of the rear fender flares attached properly. It is secured by tabs and 3M adhesive and it was just dangling off the car, chillin' . . . then it went into limp mode 3 times a week later. Car's gone now.
It's all anecdotal evidence but I've seen tons of QC problems coming from the Alabama plant. My '18 C43 had the rotors and pads replaced at 400 miles because of corrosion and squeal, the steering wheel and column replaced 1 month into ownership because it was leeching some kind of dark secretion that was staining the wheel, one of my "biturbo" badges fell off, my windshield wipers over-travel and hit the window trim, and my car has been in the shop for the past week because there was some kind of awful, resonant whining noise coming from the diff. when cruising.
That covers about half the problems I've had, or at least the ones I've had time to get fixed so far. Don't know if this car will last much longer.

For certain engine/drivetrain malfunctions, the car will go into "limp mode" - a significantly reduced power condition where the car is basically limited to 1 gear and trundles around at 35-40 mph.
It's a security measure to protect the engine against any further damage when the car detects certain serious engine/drivetrain malfunctions.

Same in the UK for MY20 model C43's......My MY19 Coupe at least came with the black window surrounds and mirror's but the front lip spoiler, door handles and tail pipes came in the dreaded chrome / aluminium finish effect, as there was no longer a ‘Night Package’ option for any C Class variant whatsoever, except the C63’s!!
Some complete and utter idiot in the MB UK Marketing department decided that from MY19 onwards the option to effectively ‘de-chrome’ would no longer be offered in order to further differentiate the C63 from any other C class variant.........as if the cartoonish wheel arches and 4.0L V8 Bi-turbo weren't enough
I unfortunately totalled my MY18 Coupe last November, which I had spec'd with the 'Night Package' and didn't think for one second that it wouldn’t be available for the MY19 43 I wanted to order. I almost spat my dummy out and went over to the ‘dark side’ for an M4 but was convinced by the dealer that it is the window surrounds, more than any other piece of trim, that needs to be black. I did agree with him on that.
However, I can say 100%, that if the above situation had happened to me this year and I couldn’t have any trim ‘de-chromed’, it would be ‘bye bye’ MB / AMG and back to BMW I go, where they have been de-chroming customers car's upon request for many, many years and subsequently branded the option as 'Shadowline’.
I cant speak for other markets but the UK does not like bloody chrome on its cars at all, anywhere, ever, period.
I therefore wouldn't be surprised to see MB UK loose C Class customers to BMW.....I certainly would have been one of them.
Uh, that's a dealer item. How did you not notice that on pre-pickup inspection ?
I once had a deer strike on a BMW with Sport Package....took out the hood and most of the front. After two weeks, they deliver the car...did a great job too with the body and paint. Except....the front headlights OE had a black insert. The recycled item they replaced one light with had a silver insert. Once I pointed it out, the shop agreed it wasn't right, and they had to force insurance to buy a new black insert light as there weren't any in the recyclers.....
My only complaint with my black package was one of my exhaust tips was peeling and showing the chrome beneath. The dealer fixed with no issues....but love, love love the blackout.
