Identify steering wheel noise!
Took it into the dealer and they seemed to think it was no big thing. They replaced 1 part, then tried lubricating something else, but didn't work. They then decided to replace the steering rack (yesterday), but afterwards I received a call from the service advisor that they think it was a bad replacement from MB and they are going to order a 2nd replacement and try again. From my limited conversations with them and lack of technical details, I get the impression they don't know what's going on. He even said he was getting the shop foreman involved.
So, my new car has now been in the shop for the same amount of time as I have actually possessed it, and I'm frustrated.
Anyone heard the sound it's making? I can't find anything similar online. It doesn't seem to affect handling or driveability. It almost sounds like metal wires being pulled through a tube, but only occurs at these lower speed tighter turns, and seems to be at certain points during the rotation of the steering wheel itself. I also just noticed in the video that it looks like one of the warning indicators is lit up on the display. I honestly don't remember seeing it before.
Please include your thoughts or ideas, or if you've experienced anything like this before. I'd just like to get my new car back and enjoy it. This is starting to really ruin the experience and excitement.
Apologies for the breathing, hoofing up 6 flights of stairs and then trying to film while driving down a parking garage left me exasperated.

Have to get used to driving it again, since they gave me a 2019 GLS for a loaner. Almost feels like there might be the slightest bit more play in the wheel, but it might just be in my head after this whole ordeal.
I gotta say, not overly impressed with the local service department's level of communication/detail/follow-up. Lack of updates, slow or no responses, wildly varying stories depending on who I was able to talk to.
Let's just hope the only thing I'll need to worry about now is the speed limit!
