PE wiring through trunk floor

Those of you who have PE, where does the wiring go through the trunk floor to the underside of the car? Through holes in the plastic tub, or between the plastic tub and the surrounding sheet metal?

I've seen pictures of the underside where the wiring emerges between the plastic tub and the aluminium exhaust heat shield, but I'm trying to find out where it actually goes through from inside of the trunk to the exterior.

Appreciate the help.

Thanks!

Could someone with PE open your trunk and take a picture of the where the wires go through to the outside under the trunk liner. I think it should be going through the plastic trunk well base somewhere.

If you can take a pic of general area on your trunk and show me, I will take a same and send to you.

Heres a picture of the plastic tub from inside the car which is actually the bottom of the trunk.

From under the car you can see that the exhaust muffler valve wires go up between the aluminium exhaust heat shield and the plastic tub somewhere.

PE wire from muffler to rear bumper area. I don't know where the wire go from the bumper to inside the trunk.

That’s really interesting. Your wiring goes into the bumper area first before trunk. All the pictures I could get of the muffler area of C43’s show the wire going between the heat shield and the plastic tub, so I was pretty confident that it did. Would another C43 owner take a quick look at this if they can?

I don't have the PE system but the wiring of the blind spot sensors, which are attached to the rear bumper, and the license plate lights on my coupe go through a rubber grommet in the tub of the trunk. There is another larger rubber grommet right next to it that you can use. Make a hole to run your wires through but make sure to seal it with Permatex so no moisture will get in.

I did see that grommet as a way through, definitely an option, but before I committed to that I wanted to find out how the original wiring for PE goes. Would be best to follow original.

It looks like these are the grommets you are questioning about.

The blue connectors indicate the harness coming from the bumper and going into the trunk. I believe the rear bumper harness has the exhaust flap harness integrated.

These are the connectors that the valves actually connect to the rear bumper harness.

Looks like I'll be going through the big grommet!

While doing a CPO today for a 2017 C63s, I took a picture of the exhaust flap harness.
This is the right exhaust flap and the harness ties into the rear bumper harness, going through the grommet on the left.
