remote window open close not working?

seems weird. this "hidden" feature worked for my car before.... walking away from the car, hold the lock key and all the windows/roof close. hold the unlock and everything opens...
for whatever reason, this isn't working on my car any longer. i tried it 10 times. nothing. stuff wont close or open. am i missing something? is there a way to resync the remote? has anyone else had issues with this?

i do remember, when first trying this, it wasn't working from certain angles.... ie - rear of the car, couldnt see the signal or something like that. but worked 95% percent of the time... currently working 0% of the time and i hate having to walk back to the car if i forget to close something. curious to hear others' experiences...

I think you need to be very close to the car, 5 ft maybe.

i was very close to the car on all attempts trying (one time in my garage) and another at work, which i didnt walk too far away from... still wasn't workin..
could a low battery in the keyfob may cause an error?

I dropped both keys on my old w205 at different time and remote open/close no longer worked.

I cringe whenever I drop my current keys and test them right away... So far so good.

hmmm, i haven't dropped my keys at all, but i can see something getting screwed up internally from this.
thanks for chiming in.

How is the other key? Also, see the battery level on your car. If its below 12v I can see it not working. Is your eco start stop working?

If you have keyless entry you can try holding your finger on the door handle. If you hold it long enough the windows should start moving.

haven't tried the other key actually, i forgot about that... good call, will try that.

the batteries were just replaced under warranty as well, eco start is working well. kind of why i figured it was a sync issue or something... maybe the dealer reset something when it was in for service and i have to reprogram the key? (that was my initial thought at least). if it continues to not work, i will just bring it up during the next oil change service.

I had the same problem and was driving me crazy, I have a c350e and tried the following and it worked for both keys, as I have keyless entry I rarely stick the key into the ignition, and thought to try it out may be it charges or a kind of sync will happen. So inserted the key and started the car, left it running for a couple of minutes and it worked again.

I know this is 4 yrs late, but in the hopes of helping anyone with this issue, chances are the windows need to be re-synced again after battery replacement. The process should be listed in the manual or found in the forum.

Thanks! This worked perfectly for me. I basically started with key and turn off straight away and it worked. Seemed to have reset things or re synced something.

If keyfob battery is low, that feature won’t work.

Automatic lowering and raising of the windows with the key on my 2019 AMG GTC worked perfectly until a few weeks ago.
Keeping my hand in the door handle and starting the car with the key didn’t work either.
Will try replacing the key battery; but the key otherwise works fine (ie to lock/unlock from the key buttons)…

Any chance there are interferences? For example I had a dashcam (rear one) installed back then and for some reason it stops the keyless go from functioning properly every time it is on.

Thanks for the suggestion.

It was the key battery. Replaced it and now it works!

Likewise! Thank you for your suggestion.

Now if I can only find the spare key… I put it “somewhere safe” and have now spent 2 hours trying to find it!

I remember reading that the open window feature relies on infrared and not a radio signal from the key fob. The infrared receiver goes bad on the door handle. (The little square part on the handle).
