How often do you change your oil?
Obviously MB says every 10k miles. Do you guys subscribe to this or do lower intervals? And if you do lower intervals, why would a manufacturer recommend something higher? If anything they would be more conservative correct?

I run 6k mile intervals on my car and 7500 on the ML350. I tend to push mine harder and its forced induction, also do them myself so cost isnt too much of a factor.
Should make a poll on this to get more response.

Since it's synthetic I'll do anywhere between 10k and 12k miles. Thinking about adding this Liqui Moly additive -

I did the 1st one at about 5k for both my Mercs. Follow up changes happen at the 1yr/10k service interval. Also, before taking our semi annual road trip down to SoCal, I usually change the oil in the GLC beforehand.

Used mobile one 0w-40 at 1500kms (1000miles). Changed again around April of last year because I don't like working on car in freezing temps at 5000kms(3000miles). Will be due for another coming April 2020 around 15000kms(10000miles).

Change mine every 5-6K (KM's). I use Pennzoil Platinum 5w40 and every other change I throw in a can of Liquimoly MOS2 additive. I am tuned and when I change my oil I do smell a lot of fuel in the oil so I'm happy with the early changes. Also use Purflux L394 filter which is what the OEM filter is (rebranded mercedes)

For anyone who is interested - I just had my first oil changed at 5,500 miles. I received the car in September and my driving a 50 / 50 mix of aggressive / casual.
Temps here in Arizona have been pretty mild since I got the car (no 100 degree days)
The guy who changed said it looked a little dirty but not horrible. He felt that waiting until the 10k mile mark would not be wise.
For reference, the guy who changed my oil is Steve with Onsite Mobile Auto Change and he is very well respected here in Phoenix.
I am having the oil tested by Blackstone Lab since I am curious and will report back
For anyone who is curious, I'll report back the findings.

MB want to sell you a new vehicle every 5 to 7 years. Following MB suggestion in not good.
All vehicle's I have had 3,000 miles +/- a few hundred I change oil, oil filter and I used additives.
I started a thread about "Bluetech Diesel Oil" on 01/17/2020 see
https://mbworld.org/forums/diesel-fo...iesel-oil.html
It is a posting about an article written by a former MB Service Manager who ran two major MB Dealership Repair Shops.
In my opinion, I think it a very good article, makes you think, applicable to any engine.
