2020 C43 AMG sedan maintenance cost
I just leased a new 2020 C43 AMG Sedan. This is my first Mercedes and first AMG. I did not get any additional packages for maintenance or break pads etc. Dealer tried a lot to sell me a maintenance package etc. and he said I am a fool to not take any packages. He tried to explain me that in 6 months first servicing will be $800 and then in 2 years (24k miles) I have to replace break pads etc and so overall cost of maintenance within 3 year lease will be $5000+. Is it true? Does AMG need more maintenance? I thought new cars will not need such maintenance for first 3 years. Listening to dealer I though there is no point in owning a AMG vehicle (just lease and return). Can someone please let me know their first 3 years experience with C43 w.r.t. maintenance, oil change etc cost? Please do help me.
My lease is 36 months / 12k miles per year. So I am planning to put around 36k miles on the car (regular driving, no race track).

Just drive it for 3 years. Think of it as a rental. Do minimum one oil change like 6months before returning. Consider swapping out the OEM tires to Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+ or Continental extremecontact dws06 and put back the OEM around same time you do the last oil change before returning because OEM runflat won't make it past 20k miles before it goes bald or explode from a pot hole and they costs 2x more then those all season non runflat. If you have a flat, you have MB roadside warranty and brand new oem tires at home.

Agreed on above. If you plan on keeping it beyond lease, you might consider prepaid maintenance. Otherwise, drive it and change the oil once year or 10k miles.
Tires might be another story depending on your driving habits. Depending on your location, get a set of AS3+s or PS4s, then swap the RFs back on at lease turn-in.

I have 18" with all season tires. I am not sure these are runflats? Should I still switch to Michelin tires?
The specification says following
- RSJ 18" AMG 5-Spoke Wheels
- R02 All-Season Tires
I live in San Francisco and it never snows here. (I somehow ended up with this car as he gave me the deal, unfortunately I did not check the tires at the time of signing)

I had those conti pro contacts on my previous car. Wear is 400 compared to 240 on 19" summer performance tires. Cost shouldn't be bad if you need to replace them at end of your lease.

oil changes seem to be 15k on facelift models so you only need 2 interval program on anything but a 45k lease.
My SA also risidulalized the cost on the maintenance program.

unless you DIY the oil changes the maintenance program is cheaper than even just doing oil changes at an indy shop. Plus no worries of them forking it up.

Most service packages don't cover breaks. They are expensive, less so if you're able to DIY.

that’s not the answer. First in 3 years do break pads need to be replaced, if so when? Can’t you just do annual oil changes and be good? The service plans A is basically an oil change. Also how much is 3 yr maintenance built into lease? I’ve heard it’s like 900 broken out monthly from 1500?

I had the same question as the OP and asked the dealer before buying my 2020. Turns out maintenance is roughly 800/yr for me which is just an A service oil change.
side note, I had the front breaks done on my 2013 C350 and it was 1k, for just the fronts. So i imagine a 2020 c43 brake job for all 4 would be close to 3k

Just had an B3 service, all discs/pads replaced, a new set of spark plugs and a puddle light cost me a total of 2200$ next two services will total 1000$ - so 5000 is way off. If the packages were good value for you, they wouldn’t sell it!

details on mileage, etc are you leasing? Leasing is basically renting the car and do bare minimum. What am I in for? I don’t want to replace any of that or tires. Don’t think I will need any of that for a 2020 brand new car and prob put on 20k miles.

basic oil changes is everything you NEED. especially for 36k. There was some kind of fluid replacement at 45/50k (can't remember). I go with maintenance cause it's basically the same price for me and the added convenience is worth it. They also look at random things and wipers are included, etc. and you're not forgoing cabin filters, etc. which may or may not be of value to you.
They will drive me a loaner and do service for my vehicle. I never have to take the time of day to even to deal with it. It's also basically a company car for me. I have even driven for work with loaners. To me that has value.
tires, you will be lucky with the 18's to go 20k without needing a replacement. Do yourself a favor and just swap them out for the length of ownership and put the originals back on for lease turn in.

I went 45k without needing brakes. turn traction control to sport/off to help with longevity of the brakes (intrusion is far too high for awd anyways).

You can definitely do pads on your own, just need the right tools and an aluminum jack & jack stand (1). Can buy those tools + pads all for under 1k.
I did the pads on my **** box accord, only thing extra I needed was a caliper tool to push the caliper in to compensate for a new thicker brake pad. Its easy man.

Sure am, it’s renting a car, not owning. I don’t think many get the plan. Air and cabin filters someone really is going to know the difference? You smell fresh air now lol?

for less than 20 a month - not even worth my time looking for an indy shop I trust for that money - let alone the marginal savings when actually doing a full service at the recommended intervals.
but my priorities are different - it's a company car that I don't even pay for. downtime has value to me - far exceeding the cost of prepaid maintenance
