Question Largest tire on stock 19" rim

What have folks successfully used as largest oversize tire on stock 19" MB rims?

the sock size. cause that's the widest that's within spec of the width of the wheels.

I have gone over-size on Porsche wheels and tracked them extensively without any issue. Why would MB be any different especially on a street vehicle?

without any context whatsoever, it's hard to say.

Some manufacturers equip a 9.5 and put a 255 on it from the factory, meaning you could upsize to a 275. THat's not the case for at least the 19 inch wheels on the c43.

What context do you use to support the contention it's not doable?

Only MBs - the best or nothing

If you want to run a wider tire than stock' 225/40, say 235/40, on stock's front 7.5" wide wheel, then you we're given the answer above - max tire's width is limited by wheel's width - 225/40-19 is the widest tire that is recommended to be fitted on any 19x7.5 wheel. Minimum recommended wheel width for 235/40-19 tire is 8". Same for the rear - the widest recommended tire on 8.5" wide wheel is 255/35 (265/35 requires 9" wide wheel).

literally tire manufacturers spec sheets. 255 is the widest, within spec, on an 8.5. sure you can put a wider tire on an 8.5 the same way you can stretch a much smaller tire on an 8.5.

there is no benefit to running a 265 on an 8.5 - you get excessive tire bulge, the tire will roll over easier and your contact patch is not effectively larger.

Thanks for the input, I see now where MB and Porsche owners differ greatly.
