You leave your racechip on your car when you take the car in for service?

Just as you have anytime a competitor (and especially RaceChip) is mentioned.

oh here we go.. don't even go down that road . I have used Renntech and Weistec on other vehicles as well. All have been fine and I highly recommend those as well. Had a Dinan sport also on a car with no issues.

Have you had any engine related issues that you needed the dealer to repair under warranty thus far?

Without CANbus, fuel control, and solenoid control, it just can't compare, especially on the MB platform.
all depends on what your trying to accomplish. and I see you pop up constantly about threads you don't event need to be involved in. so whats the point?

The RC GTS Black taps 3 sensors not two. The more basic versions might be what you describe but the GTS Black is 3 channel. It is a good product as is the JB4.

IMO, if you have a good product you don't need to **** all over the competition. It's better if you point out the features or services that make your product superior like the canbus integration and the data logging features.
If you see shady marketing, by all means call it out. But you need to be 100% accurate when you're representing your brand.

Then how would you yet if it has not yet affected your warranty? Service/Maintenance is not included in a standard warranty (even if it is prepaid). Your mods would not affects a dealers willingness to allow you to pay them to maintain your vehicle.

Even if they notice that you have had mods, the dealer has no reason to tell you right away that you have voided your warranty. Since that would discourage you from getting your vehicle serviced at the dealer and not an indie shop instead, which would be much cheaper.

We're paying vendors here so clearly we're here to market the JB4, support the JB4 community here, and point out the advantages of it over competitive products like RaceChip. My point was you seem to be a RaceChip and Dinan vendor using a non-vendor account for free advertising. Just my take on it.

The 3rd sensor on their "expensive" model is just a read only tap for reading in engine speed. You'll note even their high end model is technically incapable of reading gas pedal input, air/fuel, throttle positive, timing advance, fuel pressure, or any of the other 20 or so parameters you'd want to take in to provide safe and effective tuning. It also lacks JB4's fuel control and optional boost solenoid control which has proven to be very useful for the platform. I have no doubt people see the fake dyno charts and gas mileage claims, buy it, feel a kick in the pants, and go off in to the sunset happy. But enthusiasts curious enough to read discussion threads should understand it's severe technical limitations.

when I have done any software updates, or taken the vehicle into a dealer for a more diagnostic oriented procedure , I always remove the box. With a flash tune you don't have that luxury. Did that with the previous Dinan and JB units in the past as well.

BMS, well your take is wrong, in fact I have used your product in the past on an earlier N54 135 I had, and it worked well. Ive had many cars and used many different products, so I guess you could say im a fan boy of many companies out there; not a die hard for 1.[/QUOTE]
