C43 AMG COUPE
AMR, JB4, WEISTEC, RENNTECH

So i have been thinking just thinking about tuning my 2018 c43 for about a year now and i am ready to tune it (only when this covid19 is all over).
I am almost sure i am going to go with AMR Comport since AMR ppl were very helpful and explained everything about tuning to me (ECU tunes).
BUT some of my friends are telling me to go with JB4 and some say Weistec, and one buddy says Renntech ㅡㅡ.....

any infos with those company ECU tunes ?? or what you guys recommend and why ??

1 most important factor to me is with the tune i want the car to be safe; dont want my engine to blow out or any issues with engines. So i guess reliability after the tune is my biggest factor.

so any inputs will be greatly appreciated

JB4 gets my vote!
-Logging capability
-Cost
-Pretty much same gains/times as ECU tune
-undetectable by dealer(retain warranty)
-can be removed in minutes
-can be resold
-customer service is top notch!

would love to throw our hat in the ring. We have a handheld as well and lead all the draggy boards on the platform. Plus it’s a decent amount cheaper on sale right now

eurocharged gets my vote! 2 months into the tune and it’s the best driving experience I’ve had.

I was on the same boat as you 5 months ago. I ended up choosing the AMR rv3.1 tune and don't have any regrets. The car is a blast to drive & very quick. Idles & behaves just like stock until you floor it then hang on. Get this tune!

Depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for the maximum gain while being safe then AMR, i think you're suppose to gain 100+ whp with the comport. I don't think there is another company that will give you 100+ whp and still make the car safe. I have DME tuning for my C400, they advertise that stage 2 makes 120+ to the crank, and don't get me wrong, any tune will make your car fast, it just depends on how fast you want it and what your budget it. Keep in mind JB4 is like $800 new, AMR Comport is like $1800 i think, DME stage 2 is $1500, and im not sure about the others. To be honest, there are mixed reviews for JB4, and people say its only best on some cars. So if you want the maximum gain and yet be safe for you and your car, then definitely AMR. If you want, some gains and dont have to worry about crapping your pants, then get JB4 or a different tune. Also going to stage 2, they recommend that you go with catless dps since the oem downpipes are going to go bad with the tune anyways.

JB4 is the only system that provides top notch performance WITHOUT having to permanently flag the vehicle by flashing. And while it may or may not be the least expensive option it also has really good resale value down the road. Many of the flash maps have zero resale value.

Renntech!!

After researching the various tunes, I decided to go with Renntech for my 2020 C43 Cab!!

In comparison to AMR, Eurocharge, etc the price is higher for the tune. Reliability and quality were the key factors in the decision process along with ease of the HHT to tune or revert back to stock. As much I didn’t want to pay over 1K more than Eurocharge, this is not the time to be cheap with a 75K car!

I will share more once I get the tune installed next week.

JB4 was awesome for the money. Great bang for the buck and great support too.

AMR: pricey but seems fine, waiting on some dragy times: https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...ck-turbos.html

renntech: for cab drivers 😂

I ran a basic Racechip for a month, and then JB4 for 5 months and then Performmaster for 6 months, before taking the plunge for a Eurocharged tuned and JB4 stacked on top. As piggybacks go, I would say the Performmaster is the most seamless and smooth piggyback out there with really good top end, and good shifting behaviour like stock. I want more power and will be adding DPs, intercooler, intake and exhaust, so the Performmaster is now out as there no custom tuning capability and I can’t run the JB4 in parallel to the Performmaster, but I can stack JB4 on a tune.

If I’m running a stock car and want the best “plug and play” tuning box out there, it’s definitely Performmaster.

Performmaster is a TUV approved 460bhp upgrade, I would think that’s not exactly easy to achieve if it wasn’t the best “plug and play” tuning box out there.

That will be nice for a stock car upgrade. The connections are very neat and simple, is good for those who are afraid to have their warranty void.

Does the Performmaster interact with the CPC and TCU alongside the ECU in order to avoid torque limitations and speed up the shifting process? I am thinking of purchasing it for my G63 W463A. Either this or the RENTECH HHT + CPC, I am a bit confused on which is better.
