C43 Upgraded Intercooler by Wagner Tuning

I think you have the right approach. Change one variable at a time and get good data at each step. Thanks for undertaking this and detailing your experience. Very interested once this is a little further along.

i have done limited testing and logging. but so far, from the data logging i took multiple 0-150, 60-130, and 1/4 tests, on average i have gained about 2 psi of boost across the board. My starting IAT are much higher though. I am thinking the BMS intakes may be the issue. I amm swapping back to stock intakes with K&N filters to see if they will bring the IAT back to something reasonable. The good news is the intercooler on all the pulls held iat delta to 3-5 degrees at most increase which is impressive! It was allowing me to make and hold 20PSI in the upper gears with peaks up to 25. I currently only have a eurcharged canada stage 1 tune. no other mods besides intercooler and intakes. going back to stock intakes to see if things improve with starting IAT. my guess is that they will. Very impressed so far.

This thing is still slated to go on sale on the 28th. Wagner has provided some decent data already (which for this platform is rare) so hopefully people are willing to give it a shot, myself included.
i actually finally maxed out my C43’s temp at 255° this weekend and It cut power to about 10%. It was 112°F And humid and a Model 3 and I were battling up some twisties for about 10 minutes when I floored it on a straight and nothing happened. 112°F Ambient is really hot and my car is stage 2 but definitely could use some more cooling.

It's $1990 on the Wagner Tuning website.
What's interesting is as recently as this morning they had the WMI bung option for around $2200 (I still have the tab with that option open).
That option has now been removed though, so anyone out there hoping for the WMI might want to look into it. Perhaps the bungs placement did not work.
*Edit* As recently as July 27th they mention WMI ports on the there FB post so perhaps they still plan on it

If you have a link to the website and/or data that would be appreciated. I Googled this product and found nothing. The data better be darn impressive for a $2k price tag before installation.

Holy canoli ! these things are about 500-900$ bucks for other platforms (with the infiniti q50 3.0t being the closest engine wise to ours). 2000$ plus shipping and maybe tax.
thats a tune..and then some. looks very well made though.

After googling, it seems the intercooler gains about ~10 hp over stock intercooler?

I vote for a group buy, this will be a good upgrade for stock and tuned for engine longevity and health. I started a group buy on the front lip so I know the drill, I may start one up soon and negotiate with Wagner. Let me see if they are interested and how many people I would need for a discount.

They do have a dealer here already and they are all shipped from same place .

cool, I wrote them an email today about the group buy discount, hope they get back to me soon. I'd say we'll need at least 10 people on this to make the discounts worth it.
I'm definitely in on the GB also!

I was not sure if everyone knows but Star4Life is a dealer for them in the US. I actually have bought one already through him (just patiently waiting for them to ship). I think anyone interested should reach out to Star4Life for all the details.

hey guys
Sorry I missed all the replies. I will give an update and try to keep it as short as possible.
First off. The performance of this intercooler is amazing. The IAT stays very flat and even goes down for a gear on some runs, holds pretty well throughout the pull. it has been tested extensively by myself. Combined with larger surface area intakes, this motor will be moving much more air through it. I was able to constantly hold 2 PSI of boost more throughout pulls once the intake and intercooler are added. Boost isnt everything but getting air in and out of the engine is. I have recently upgraded and fueling system and am working on the high pressure side now. Things are about to get interesting and the extra air this intercooler allows us to move in will help.
Keep in mind, this total cost includes an Air to water intercooler, charge pipes, all hardware. You need nothing else to install. This adds to the costs vs an air to air intercooler. Also, this comes with larger diameter charge pipes as well. I do not think the price is too outrageous for what you are getting. Most intercoolers for BMW run $800-1200 and charge pipes another $400 or more. This intercooler is in the ball park especially once you see the quality of the kit.
Yes I am a dealer for wagner. i am not a sponsor on this website so I am not allowed to advertise. hopefully this post doesnt go too far. I have offered the group buy to our C43 tuning group in whats app and if anyone on here wants in just pm me and i will give you contact info. The price will be worth it considering what MAP is. We are not giving them away but it will be worth it to reach out
Pricing can not be shared on internet per Wagner dealer rules.
In addition, the WMI ports versions are delayed due to incorrect location. There was miscommunication between Wagner and myself and i guess it was not realized that there is not enough room between the engine fan and meth ports to fit nozzles and hose. The german english barrier and different time zones is not easy on communication. We do not have an ETA at this time because a new solution has not been figured out. So if you want the WMI ports, you will need to wait. Alternatively, if you know a fab guy, you can just weld bungs on the charge pipes like everyone else has in the past.
Finally, these intercoolers are not being mass produced where everyone can get one right away. At this time, I only know of 10-15 units being shipped to Wagner USA of which I have pre ordered 10 of them. I would assume the other 5 are already accounted for by a few other distributors. Individuals can not buy from Wagner direct. They will be directed to a dealer. I am not sure when more are due in. But these first units are scheduled to ship to USA in a week or 2.
If anyone wants to get in on one of the first 10, pm me. i only have a few slots left. They are not being given away, but it will be worth your time We will only have the intercoolers WITHOUT WMI nozzle ports/bungs for the time being.
Once you see what i have coming for our fueling systems, you may rethink your need for meth.
