C43 Intake and Downpipes
i recently came to the conclusion that i would be purchasing a bms intake and westech downpipes my question is do i need to run a basemap tune and if i do any recommendations

There is little-to-no gains from downpipes without getting a stage 2 tune to go with it. A tune is not necessarily needed for BMS intakes, but you will see better gains from them at higher boost levels.

Eurocharged and AMR are popular on this platform. I can’t speak from experience with either, as I went with OE Tuning which I am very happy with. There are MANY people on this forum running JB4 on a c43 with great results - I do not recall seeing a single JB4 horror story here.

Don't know who said that about the JB4. It sounds like AMR hype.. There are plenty of people here with JB4s and are trouble free. I haven't heard of a blown motor yet from a JB4. 18bora was one of the fastest C43s on the page and he ran for years, plus a lot of quarter mile runs, and had no issues. Even running 11.2s.
If you add downpipes, you'll get a CEL that the JB4 can't fix. You'll need a tune for that.

Eurocharged Performance ML63 and TT lambo
Sigh...
the jb4 is a good quality product for sure and doesn’t kill things
good advice here and if you have any questions we are always here to help as well. We have tuned the fastest 43s on the boards!

I have mine Eurocharged and have no complaints. No issues, customer service is great and no **** talking from the owner like AMR. How you conduct yourself and your professionalism to me is a direct extension of your credibility and integrity. Jake Pederson owns Eurocharged and have chatted with him online several times and he will answer any questions that you may have. Eurocharged also comes with a warranty. AMR and i don't think anyone else for that matter offers a warranty. I have had my tune for 6 months and absolutely love it. Look on Facebook forums and hit them up there. Also their tune is about 1/3 the price of AMR and Eurocharged currently has the fastest tune that i am aware of. Here is some drag slips from one of their C43 tuned cars.

No tuning changes needed for our intake!
JB4 is the safest tune out, allows the customer on the fly mapping changes for different fuels, and can easily be removed and resold later when you move on to the next car.

i have a high flow OEM style high flow catted downpipe and noticed a difference in performance, spool and punch especially around 2500+ rpm.
No tune...yet
was wondering if i can piggyback a jb4 on top of a ecu tune to take advantage of the high flow pipe as opposed to getting a custom ecu tune.

My friend went DME stage 2 for his c43 and its really fast compared to stock. His also spits flames. He has been running the tune for a year so far with no issues. I have videos of the tune if you are interested.

When it comes to downpipes you'll have an emissions CEL. Inside the USA we can't help you with that for legal reasons.

Yes the JB4 is commonly used as fine tuning tool to make minor adjustments from flash maps, especially when adding mods or changing fuels. Like adding octane booster, E85, or race gas for race days.
