Mercedes Me VIN Verification !!
I bought my car (2018 C43)last year, haven’t really driven it much but now starting to and really want to use the remote start feature. I tried downloading the Mercedes’ me app and linking it to the car. VIN verification is needed, I called the number on there and they said they won’t be able to verify it since I need to register with a dealer. Took it to the dealer but nobody knows what to do with it. I am the second owner, first owner was in Canada.
has anyone had this issue and is there a way to bypass it ??

The stealer needs to register the owner to in the MercedesMe system for all cars with the COMAND interface. A sales person or a business/finance manager should be able to do this fir you.

Besides needing the dealer to register the Mercedes Me system, I don't believe even after that is done it will work. I think the Canadian cars pre 2019 or so won't work with Mercedes Me app. The newer ones will work with the Mercedes Me Connect app.

My VIN is WDDWJ6EB8JF644189
Would really appreciate if you can register me.
Would really appreciate if you can register me.
Therefore you are unable to use the Mercedes me connect features as there is no HERMES and it cannot be retrofitted.

My 2018 GLA has Mercedes Me, but my 2019 C43 has Mercedes Me Connect. Those two versions of MM are quite different and have different initial registration schemes. (In my case I'm describing USA cars, not Canadian).

I can confirm the feature is not active for 2018 C43 in Canada. It works on facelift c43.

me connect works 2019 and never. if your car 2018 you need to download mercedes me not the connect one. and yes only dealer register that. Probably you need to buy features after registration because it looks like, already expired.

The only way the VIN will work, if it is Me compatible, is if the imported federalized the VIN when they imported it. I've been down this road before; my car is Canadian originally. Spoke to the original selling dealer in Quebec, MB Canada, and MB USA. Everyone was really helpful but ultimately, there's nothing the owner can do unless the VIN was federalized w/ MB USA when the car entered the US. It's not a required part of the process, so most cars don't have it done unless the original owner imported it in.
