Will KW V3 make ride softer?

Hi guys,

i have 2020 c43. In general I like my car only issue is when I hit imperfections on the road like reflectors, suspension feels so stiff. It feels like when a car’s tires overinflated. Even I put Michelin PS4S and put 30 psi cold still feels same. If I install kw v3 with soft settings do you guys think will it be softwr than OEM?

thanks for replies

I have never seen an instance where aftermarket springs performance make a car ride softer. I have the non-adjustable H&R springs, and the ride is VERY firm - which I like for my purposes.

i am talking about coilovers not just springs. Springs are definitely make ride stiffer

Ride quality is very subjective, if it bothers you to that degre you may need to look at buying something else. My wife and I find the ride in my 2020 C43 to be totally fine- even with 19" wheels and OEM MOE tires.

I know Koni's ride pretty soft on my GTI. I'm not sure they make them for the C43 AMG though.....

Koni doesn't make anything for the W205. Bilstein sells a B4 OE replacement in their DampTronic line- front only.

I recently changed to Michelin PS4S’s on the stock 19” wheels and it has noticeably improved the NVH and handling over the MOE run flat tires the car came with.

Coming from my Honda/Subaru days you can have stiff spring rates and a comfortable ride. It just depends on the dampening. If you run full soft and daily drive you can honestly enjoy a really nice ride.

I use the V3's on a 911 and I'm so much happier with those for ride comfort/travel/shock speeds than the stock Bilstein B4 setup. You're going to be very happy with the V3's if you set them up properly and allow yourself an acceptable amount of suspension travel. A new Lexus ES is under damped and i will rebound 2-3 more times after any dip on the freeway and is far worse than any modern coilover setup properly tuned.

To be fair, the facelift C 43 had revised suspension dampening via software (forgot if the actual hardware was changed as well) but I test drove a few and it was always much softer and comfortable compared to my pre-facelift.

Here are the changes I found out back then: https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...ml#post8858401

Thanks for answers. Car is not that stiff just feels like short sidewall of tires causing more impact feel hitting on imperfections on the roads. Maybe I should go with 18 inch wheels with more sidewall. Other than that I really enjoy it.

That is a good idea, sorry to hear that going to non run-flats PS4s and adjusting the tire pressure wasn't enough to help though. I wonder if you go forged wheels it might help as well?
