Dipstick pop out it self
P.S. i always check my oil after car sit min 1-2h at best before cold start on flat place
If the vehicle was sitting say for days, it will measure way above max.
I think you know this already but the dipstick is not fully submerged (or a better way to explain it is the dipstick is not dipping straight down into the oil pan, it goes down at an angle) so one side of the dipstick will read higher than the other side of the dipstick, always take the higher side as the reading.
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface
2. The engine should be switched off for approximately five minutes if the engine is at normal operating temperature
3. Pull oil dipstick out and wipe
4. Slowly slide dipstick in the guide tube to the stop and take it out again after a few seconds.
5. If the level is between min and max mark, the oil level is correct.
6. If the level is at min or dropped below min, add 1.1 US qt (1.0L) oil.

event the oil stick is smart!
You know how engine oil can be serviced through the dipstick tube ? Tube plunges all the way to the very bottom of the oil pan.
Meaning the level inside the dipstick tube... may not be exactly the same as the level of the oil pan ie. be not useful to look at. Crankcase pressure forces oil upwards inside your dipstick tube.
Let engine oil level settle OVERNIGHT, then have a look again.

but do you think i was refill too much with oil, nowhere i was able to find any info when chain tensioners were changed how much oil it could potentialy take the sump till read between MIN/MAX
so i get a bit concerned today when i saw my dipstick several times showing above MAX and i start thinking if i wasn't supposed to put 7.5L oil..?
@JettaRed if im not wrong you had WIS do you have any idea if this is documented there

good setup
good times!!

tip is bent more than it should
imagine this was a "push rod"....
roll it to check "out-of-round" bend.
go easy bending seasoned plastics
Make it really-really straight by hand than it should quit getting up.

MB may well have designed a new service item to renew.... we're going to miss not having a dipstick.

P.S. on my manual it says 6.5L and my offset based on VIN is 0.35L = 6.85L but i pour 7.5L until i see the reading a bit above mid lvl
but usually on oil change i put between 6.5-7L

Does anyone know when you change chain tensioners and the engine oil how much oil it should take because the service put 6.5L then start the car to run the oil then nothing on the stick (after few min) then 7l it was at the bottom of the MIN and then another .5L (total 7.5L) and it went a bit above of the MID, so im scared if now for some reason it seems to be overfilled but why for 2 months was showing me below the MAX... also does w205 have oil sensor if it's on max...?

then we can conclude this is evidence showing trusted level.
> Adjusting level:
- Suction 500mL out
- Now level should be below Max
- else repeat
When engine oil is serviced... the Total Qty depends on how much oil remains inside.
Trust the dipstick more than published specifications based on dry engines.

but when easy we keep insignificant things simple:

We have to be able to trust reliable bases :
good overall brakes condition...
good oil level...
good chassis voltage...
good Tstat coolant temps...
good tensioners condition...
good rubber mounts...
....
loosely controlled ok!
How is your recent ALT-LIN test drive????
