Maintenance/Repair Cost

I am debating on the w205 C63 vs C450 and have never own a Mercedes before. Either way, I plan on keeping the car for about 10 years. Maintenance and repair wise, will there be a huge difference in the cost between the regular vs AMG car ? I mean, I can see oil/filter etc should be the same but what about parts when the car needs repair after the warranty expired ?

If you plan to keep the car that long I would advice you to buy extended warranty when you buy the car new. The three main benefits are:

1. You can negotiate the cost when you buy the car and can expect about 10% discount

2. I the long run you will save money by locking today labor and parts pricing.

3. Peace of mind - for me its priceless

Pre-Paid Maintenance on an AMG cannot be residualized into the lease. On a C450 it can be. If you are leasing the C63; the PPM does not make sense. The extended warranties vary on price due to time and mileage. A 10% discount is a lot considering MBFS sets the pricing.

Don't forget that you can buy an extended warranty from MB after the purchase. I did so with my c350 3 years after I purchased it. I just waited for them to run a special on it and saved $$$.

BTW it was 10% which is what the dealer charges on top of MB's price.

I know about the extended warranty but I am more concern as to when even the extended warranty is out. Does it cost more when it comes to repair or for parts?

Do not keep any high end vehicle without a warranty. One repair will out weigh the cost of the warranty.

For the most part, it seems that Mercedes problems follow the entire platforms, not whether they're performance or not. There are known defects with specific engines though, but that's not a known/given for increased maintenance.

The 6.2 was piece mechanically a piece of ****, two words: camshaft adjusters.
