Mercedes-Benz A170 CDI
C63 Amg Released
Specifications:
457 HP
6,2-liter V8
100 km/u in 4.5 sec.
600 Nm @ 6.000 rpm
250 km/h topspeed
"Mercedes has taken the wraps of the ultimate version of its all-new C-Class sedan - the C63 AMG with 457 hp and 443 pound-feet of torque.
Under the hood is the same 6.3-litre V-8 that's in AMG versions of the M-Class and CL. In the C-Class it gives a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
Mated to the engine is AMG's Speedshift Plus 7G-TRONIC transmission. Steering wheel shift paddles and three driving modes - Sport, Comfort and Manual - are standard. The newcomer will be the first AMG car to feature an automatic throttle-blipping function during downshifts. Mercedes say this enhances the driver's emotional experience, but also gives almost completely jolt-free downshifting.
It's also the first AMG to feature a three-stage stability control system, which allows the driver to pre-set the vehicle's dynamic thresholds. Put simply, this means he can predetermine at which point during an extreme maneuver he or she wants the stability control to activate.
A sports suspension and 18-inch AMG alloys (or optional 19-inch rims) will offer an outstanding driving experience, according to the German firm."

Those fender-flares are HUGE! Great-looking stance, very aggressive... with the power and specs to back it up - I want one!!!
no way I'll be able to afford it though - but maybe in 2010 I'll look to pick up a nice, low-mileage 2008 model...
love the new wheels - any news/specs on the widths and offsets? Will the 18s work with the C32? I think I'd like that look on mine...

Kudos to making an AMG that looks very AMG. A little Acura TL tossed in as well.
With a 0-60 of 4.5 it's starting to get to the point that you cannot use all the HP with two wheel drive. With perfect grip, it should be able to approach 4 seconds.
Maybe I'll give it a look -- after a few years of healthy depreciation!

Holy ****.
Now that's what I'm talking about. Finally they come up with a distinctive body style that further sets apart from non AMG models.
Power is not bad and I'm sure I'll get used to the WRX style fogs.
I can finally sleep well at night.

New C63
Hope they do a better job of distinquishing the actual AMG from the faux AMG (sport) I've seen a lot of these late model W203 sports running around and about, and from a distance it's a little tuff to sort them out from the real deal,... well at least until you get up on them. Then it's obvious!

This car looks fuccking AMAZING!!!!!! I can't wait to see dyno results. I bet it will be making more power then 457hp and the 0-60 in 4.5 I bet will be more like 4.1-4.3!

I'm aware that the pics above are of European model, but lets analyze the exterior differences between AMG vs US non AMG sport model:
1. Hood
2. Front bumper / spoiler
3. Front fenders
4. Grill (this one comes with chrome surround)
5. Side skirts
6. Trunk spoiler
7. Rear apron
And of course we'll get a pair of amber sidemarkers here in the US.
