Top Gear review C63
They really like it, except for the 7-speed auto.
Performance Pack is a vital option. Also they say it'll go to the wire when compared to the RS4 and M3.

Oh sweet Jesus, I like what they have to say. The Brits really know how to appreciate the automobile. Their mags and TV shows smoke the US counterparts (ie; the MotorTrend article posted earlier).
I disagree with the "all arounder might not be good enough" comment though. I think that Top Gear has made a strong case for a car that performs within an acceptable margin in the catagories of track, road and comfort.
Sign me up! Woo Hoo! Bring on the C63!

Very good review. Still waiting on EVO's, though I don't expect anything less than praise.
The guy kinda contradicts himself when he calls the C63 a potential "all rounder" which in some ways it is, but it sounds even more dynamically fine tuned than the E92 M3, which comes off as chalk full of compromises for the sake of stroking more ego's. You can't write a review puffing a car up as being such a revelation then to **** on it and call it an "all rounder" that may not fare so well next to the competition. The C63 is a hardcore wolf in sheep's clothing. I really hope that I'll be able to buy one of these some day... in the not too distant future. Gotta get through my last yr and a .5 of college first.

O yeh... I'll forever despise MBUSA if they don't include the PP as part of the options list for the NA market C63. I'm not too incredibly fond of the five spoke ''18's, the multi spoke "19's(correct size?) look spectacular.

talking to AMG boss Volker Mornhinweg , seems like he's aiming to beat BMW M-Sport at its own game. I told him I didn't like the transmission much, thought it was too slack and soft, and his eyes lit up at that.
"Just wait," he said. He wouldn't tell me what he's up to, but he's definitely up to something

must admit can not wait to read what the final production model is like or this secret they have up their sleeve
might have a look at one and see what it i like in the flesh when it hits our side of the world

AMG better sort out the shift speeds in M. From My experience with SLk55 AMG, M mode has slow upshifts and U can only upshift/downshift one gear at a time most of the time.
In S mode ( sport mode ) u can downshift from 5 to 3 by clicking the left paddle twice and the gear indicator would change from 5 to 3 but in the tach U can see that it is first going to 4 and then to 3 meaning the Actual shifts lag the cuurent gear indicator
In M mode say from 5 to 3 u have to downshift to 4, once that is complete U then downshift to 3 unlike a direct shift from 5 to 3 like in 5 /6 speed or like in DSG
IMHO Amg should sort out the 7 speed trans shift speeds to be on top of m3/Rs4 since AMG seems to have designed the suspension in C63 to be as good as any high end sports cars

WTF is wrong with the Top Gear website? I am trying to print the article and take to the "private reading room". On one PC the Top Gear website uses up 100% of my CPU resourses under iexplorer.exe and never prints. I go to another PC and still no print jobs with a lot of CPU resourses from iexplorer.exe???

Nice one 360! haha
I don't want some kind of horrible jerking tranny though. Sure it'll be sweet if it would shift faster, but I don't want a compromise in ride quaility. IF you want that get an M3.

thank you for sharing, It was a good read and the C63 is magnificent though I would like to see it in other colours.
Silver is not the best colour for the W204 C-class.

Nice read indeed! I will be staying tuned for sure.
One thing that no one has mentioned is the possibility that the Engine is underrated just like the S, CL, SL versions of the 55 in comparison to the E55.
If indeed the Engine isn't overrated and the stated number are accurate than it would appear like a small ECU tweak would bring the C63 right up to par with the E63 CLS 63, etc, etc...
