Will there be a C63 AMG Coupe?
Hey guys I was just going through an old magazine where there was a review about the prev-gen C55 AMG coupe.. I don;t think I've ever read of anyone owning one on the boards.. I was just wondering... with that 6.3 Liter engine having the potential of close to 500 hp... once that gets dropped into a coupe....debadged... it'll be an amazing sleeper...
On another note we keep comparing the M3 to the C63.. even though one has 2 doors and one has 4... aside from performance... the C63 would be much more practical as well... Is there a C63 AMG coupe in the works???

FIRST! I would think that a C63 Coupe would really be a CLK63 or at least create too much confusion and competition. Also, people who have driven both (the new M3, the RS4 and the new C63) say that although their 0 to 60 times are all close (all low to mid 4's), the unbelievable torque of the AMG destroys the others at anything over 80 mph. Even with the big M3 rev limit. That's cool.

no doubt it'd be confusing, but didnt they have the C55 AMG coupe alongside the CLK55 AMG... ?
I haven't driven any of those cars... but was wondering if it would happen...
you say that the AMG would walk away from the other at 80+ mph... but around the track won't any advantage that it already has, be even better without the 2 doors....?

Except I don't think they will call it that...even so, the rumor was the E46 333 hp engine would be dropped into the 1-series...kind of pointless with the N54 being so easily modded to well of an excess over 330 ponies. Unless of course you just really really miss that metallic shriek of that engine!
I know there was a C32 coupe in Europe, didn't know they made a C55 version also?

The CLK63 Cabriolet is a dope car, but for the money, I would just get a 997 Carrera S!!
IMHO, The CLK550 is the true bargain here. AMG Performance and power (not to mention cross-drilled rotors and 18" wheels) for around $60K!

Close your eyes and imagine a C63 Black Series Coupé. 3300 lbs, 457 HP, 442 lb-ft of torque, AMG SpeedShift 7G-Tronic, CF hood, track bred front geometry, LSD rear with 265/35 ZR 18's out back. $80K? Would that give the 997 Carrera S a run at the track I wonder?

However, the 997 appeals in many other ways besides hp/tq!

I know what you're talking about and I'm telling you it's never existed. Unless you consider the crappy old C230 Sports Coupe but that wasn't really a W203 coupe either. The CLK series is the equivalent of a 2 door C class as far as Mercedes is concerned.

The CLK is supposed to be more upscale than the C, despite sharing major components, it's slotted between the C and the E.

Thank you thats exactly what i was talking about

Nope not a conversion because along with the W203 Facelift they even facelifted the coupes and they dropped the 5.5 liter engine in it too...

Yeah thats what im talking about... there was a C-Class sports coupe... there were even ones with the 3.2 Liter AMG engine .... after the facelift for all the W203's they gave the new coupe the 5.5 liter engine... hence the thought of a W204 AMG Coupe
