For sure... Next time I am in Oregon I will get some pics. Like I said, never been a big mercedes fan until I saw the C63. I could actually call and have my Mom take some. The weekend car is a Tundra and a Tacoma...

Congrats! I could see Autobahn being a little more in the know than some dealers. I've had good service from them, much better than Smythe.
And they are a Brabus dealer, install and service Brabus cars.
The only thing about the C63 is that I don't beleive it comes with a manny.
And after driving a M3, they handle soooo well.
I'll have to wonder about the C63.
The tell will be in the driving of it.
But for certain, it will be a beast!

I'm not going to say that the c55 handled well but it has times very close to the m3 on the nurburing. It just does it in a very strange way and with much less feedback. However in tight corners it's night and day, much how my 911 makes the m3 feel like a caddy.

I did pre-order mine a month ago. My salesman estimated base price around 63K. Put $1000 down. Estimated delivery March 2008. Black on black.
This is just to put your name on list, i will choose options when they come available. I think around 70K loaded.....

I bought my C32 through AUTOBHAN MOTORS oF BELMONT, I asked them about some info on the C63 but all i got was few possibly this and that. who did you talk to about the C63 ? Sales director ? i was there 2 months ago picking up a CLS550. If what you said is true, Congrats on the new ride.

Autobhan motors does have first dibs on some cars, its private own branch. unlike the SF downtown mercedes, Autobhan have a baller client listing from " Hillsbrough".

BTW, I stopped by Bellevue MB (Washington) and they said they aren't taking orders until January. Expected delivery in April. About $70k nicely optioned. I can't wait. Color choice is driving me crazy though. I love black, I love white. Maybe I'll take grey?

Lakeshow, can you do me a favor and show me your order papers for the C63? I put my deposit down for a preorder, and they are unable to order the car yet. It is a very high volume dealer that has a lot of experience preordering special edition AMGs, etc. I had the owner look into this twice, and he got back to me and said that there is still no way for any US dealer to order the vehicle. It would be nice if I had something to show him.

Just changed the color that they have down for me... As we already talked about this is a get in a line kind of a deal. I put money down, then as soon as we can pick the options, I do that, then I get my car when they first arrive...

Coming from a guy who has ordered his share of cars from dealer's this means NOTHING in terms of him actually buying a car. He just gave the dealer 2k to put his name on a "list" and nothing more. Anytime it's totally refundable means no solid commitment from buyer nor holds the dealer to any promise. They can still sell the car to other buyers first at over MSRP to make their buck and make you wait. In other words this is not a contract by any means....
People in the NORCAL do this all the time just to be cool and pretend they have the latest car since there is no commitment. (not saying you are like this) Dealer's will always take your money just to get you to come back to the dealer. Honest dealers will not take your money cuz they know it's way too early. You did NOT order any car yet so wake up and smell the coffee.....
Most people drop off the list when it comes time to pony up the real money to buy the car anyways. When I was getting a 997 TURBO they had 25 people on the so called "list" and once their name was called all but 4 of them dropped off and wanted their money back.
But hey it does work if you are committed to buying, after 15 months on the list, on the build month I put in another $5000 and at this point no refund since the car is being built to my specs and I will take deliver this month of my 2008 GT3 custom built.
If you are serious about buying the c63, then a congrats are in order and keep us updated. I'm going to talk to my sales guy later this week to see exactly what's up on this car.
The C63 is not that high demand a car so I'm sure you can find them from dealers who do not sell to a rich demopgraphic....such as North Dakota

Now what you don't know is that my family has a long history with this dealer. They would not screw us... Most recently my parents got matching CL63s... This is followed by a long line of Mercedes. So call it what you want, but I don't think I get the same service there as some guy walking in off the street. And it's in their best interest to keep us coming back...
And if they do screw me over... So be it... I'll get one some place else. And so will my family. But at least I have my name on a list, some money down, and some signed papers. That is enough to make me happy for now...
I hope you love the 997 Turbo. That's pretty much the sickest car out there... Love it.

I had a deposit down on the E92 M3. $1,000 and I think I was number 12 on the waiting list (this was back in Spring). Once the reviews came out and all, I just realized it wasn't for me.
Right now I have my money down on the new Skyline GT-R. Does it mean I am buying one? Nope. But I did it because if I want this car (it sounds pretty sweet) then I would have to wait at least a year after it is released because its going to be extremely limited production and only like half the dealers are selling it. I was lucky enough to have the salesman write:
"Sold as per window sticker" under the vehicle price column. He also wrote "1st on list to be delivered." If it is a failure or I'm just not crazy about it, I get my money refunded. Also, if this car is gonna be marked up for a crazy amount, I could always buy it and flip it .
Since you love the C63, you made a wise decision, although $2k seems excessive. You should try different dealers. I tried 10 different Nissan dealers, only 3 of them were getting this car and of the 3, one wanted $1k and #3 spot, the other wanted $2k and a #1 spot. I was blessed and got a $500 deposit for #1 spot.
I love the C63, you're going to enjoy it my friend

For the last time the kid didnt order it he just has his name on the list.. Some big dealers dont do lists, or only do lists for customers who have bought a number of cars.. Like a few people have said a lot of people put their name on the list but when it comes time to give more money they drop out, so some dealers dont do this since real people who want to buy the car are discouraged when they hear 30 people are ahead of them when only maybe 10 really are going to buy a car.

20+ to list......
I also placed an order for my wife's next car through MB Manhattan, although pricing and options were unknown, the dealer did say the car would arrive in April and by January, they should be able to give me the options and pricing to finish up with my order. Everyone I'd talked to all agreed that this is one heck of a car, and it's still a worthwhile buy even if it's $75k, and I agreed.
