Where just gonna have to wait and see on the residual value and money factor soon. I assume it will be around $1K but it depends on down and lease term as well.

I agree with the rest of the posters; I'm thinking slightly above $1k monthly with $0 down. Love the C63, but owning an AMG is a bad idea. Holy depreciation!
Leasing is certainly a case by case decision. I like the idea of paying for the amount of car I use. I don't like always having a car payment.

$70,000 MSRP, and they won't be discounting the C63 for a while. Figure with $5000 down and the money factor at .0025 (6%) on a 36 month lease $1100 plus tax . Money factors are not what they were two years ago. You will not get a zero down deal for $1000 @ month.

I think a good lease term you would be paying around 50-60% of the cars price tag. If you're anywhere over the 60% range which is not uncommon especially on specialty cars like the AMG then you're better off financing it.

I love this car but I'd wait awhile personally. The threat of serious recession looms on the horizon and the market for a $70k sport sedan that gets 12-15 MPG will shrink rapidly if housing values drop 20-30%, consumer spending tanks, and gas climbs to $4.00/gallon for premium unleaded, will get very, very small.

You're lucky that the Mercedes-Benz sales agent doesn't say "If you have to ask, you can't afford it."
Because that's what they used to say.
I'd guess the lease will probably be somewhere around $1300-1500 a month, with a down payment of around $5000.

These rates seem really high. Last spring there was a $999 deal on the E63. It was a 33 mo lease with $6K down and a 63% residual. The MSRP was around $94K and included the P2 package. How could a $70K car command a similar or higher payment even considering the $6K down that was required?
It can definitely be expected that there will be many dealers jacking the price up on this car for awhile. Seems like a lease may avoid that problem and keep your options open down the road.
Why not lease since it avoids the depreciation issue mentioned above and generally allows one to drive the pee out of the car and have fun doing it.

The payment will prob depend based on dealership, because this isn;t going to be a car there goign to stock 50 of like a c300 or e320. Its going to have to be ordered nd the dealer will assume if you want to order it you must be willign to pay.

You would have to be nuts to lease this car. You would be locking yourself into a lot of pain. Why not buy it, enjoy it, and sell it before it is worth 25k less then you paid a year ago. Mercedes is not a car to hold longer than a year, especially AMG cars!

ur payment is way too high. i agree the lease may be around $1300/month but that would be with $0 down.
