Congrats! I have found the build quality and interior design 10 times better than the W204. I couldn't be happier... The only thing I do not like so far is people treat my car like some kind of exotic and stare at me like you wouldn't believe. When I was on the expressway going to the suburbs last weekend I had 3 thugs circling my car. I'm just not one for attention I guess...

Got a S5 not a C63
I was on my way out when i posted the above. My last C was a W203 2005 C320 CDi with ALL the options. This car cause me no end of problems.
1st 12K Gear box banging 1-2 and 2-1. Drove from the UK to south of Italy and by the time we got there i thought the box was going o fall out. The car visited the work shop 5 time before i refused to have it back unless a new box was fitted. They did and at 24K it started to do it again. Still did on the day i part chopped it for the S5.
2nd 22K Common rail failed ( Full tank discharged over the M1)
3rd Rusty brake callipers. Replaced along with noisy front brake pads
4th 0k to 33K Paramatic steering. When decelerating into a corner the steering took 10 seconds to lighten up. New steering rack fitted (didn't fix it). New steering pump fitted (didn't fix it). 5 days in workshop.
5th Air intake filter required changing every 6K
6th Oil leak front of engine 2 Days workshop.
But even after all that I was going to get a C63 and asked the dealer to call me when the list started. They never called. But i have to say that i am so glade they didn't. When the W204 first hit the showrooms i went to have a look at it. The first thing that hit me was the dashboard, My W203 was much better, If you took the badges of the inside you would be hard pressed to name the car. The Sat nav screen is just gash. Then the styling, Its just not a Merc. They say they took 10 years on this car, well they they wasted there time.
Any how i have a S5 now and the inside is better has both BMW and MB can come up with. The overall build is way better that the W204 and have to say better than my other halves SLK280. Which makes me a little sad, Dont get me wrong over the past 7 years we have had 5 MBS and nothing else, but the C320 was the last straw. Also looking at the MBs range don't think there is a car that now stands out. When we replace the SLK280 i may look at the upcoming S5 soft top.
Sorry Mercedes but Audi are on your heals over even a little in front.

I still have mixed feelings about Audi's styling (their interiors are really above a lot of cars though), but that blue/red one is nice.

2002 C32 and 2009 Audi S5
Retired the C32 after a love/hate relationship of massive enjoyment intermixed with massive pia repairs. Still own it but it sits at the curb while I enjoy my black on black audi S5.
What a car. Cant' say enough about the experience of driving it. It doesn't have as much power as my modded C32, but it has everything else in spades. Absolutely the smoothest, most comfortable, intelligent and just plain pleasant car I have owned to date. And what sweet lines.

LOL the S5 is small game for the C63... I went at it with one, which was just embarrassing for the other guy... I don’t even waste my time or gas with those cars anymore.
An RS5 is a different story, however they discontinued the V8 engine it was supposed to receive and I believe it will now get a V6... Not my cup of tea, but I’m sure it will be very fast.

Yeah, I know it's not as fast as the C63 but it does have several nice perks over it.
1.) Price (56k loaded)
2.) Interior (WAY nicer than the C63)
3.) Bang and Olufson Stereo (amazing sound according to reviews)
4.) Standard 19" Wheels
5.) Manual Transmission (automatic option coming shortly)
These are just the top 5 advantages I can think of the S5 has over the C63 and I'm sure I could come up with 5 which the C63 has OVER the S5. I'm just curious to know what everyone else thinks... I have setup a test drive tonight at an Audi dealer near me to see how this car behaves. I sat inside it a few days ago but that dealer would not let me take it out for a drive.
So far, it has been tested at 4.8sec 0-60 and 13.2sec in the quarter. Pretty much C55 numbers. Like I said before, it's no C63 in a straight line but there is so much more to consider and #1 for me is PRICE. 70k for a c-class is going to be tough to swallow.
Thoughts?

08' S550,,,C63!
Okay I have an S5 and I have to say it is a great car and not because I have one. I normally drive the C63 as a daily d on weekends I love the manual real smooth.
I would have too say that C63 and S5 have no comparison at all. The C63 is an animal and the S5 is smooth and classy. I simply love both.
