Why no talk of Audi S5 here?
If you think 350HP is weak than you have an incredibly skewed perspective.
And it's kind of weird coming from a 335i owner.

I'm surprised in a car forum, by some of the comments, there are some that aren't really car enthusiasts...
So do you consider the 420bhp of an R8 weak? Or the sub 500bhp of a GTR or 997TT weak compared to my 500 bhp CLK63 Black weak?
Hint: they're as fast or faster than my car.
A stock 335i is only around 300bhp and a stock S5 is 350bhp. So what if you voided the warranty and tuned it?
And are you saying you can't tune the Audi, too?

My W202 C55 beats up on the RS4 V8 and would devour the S5. These cars are heavy as hell and I know that weight is a serious burden on those cars in a straight line run.
On a road course I'd take nothng from them though where I know they reign.
350hp nowadays is nothing for a V8. Not with all these new offerings that are out from AMG,"M",GM,Ford,Dodge,Chrysler, and other euro V8's I have not mentioned.
Today I have to admit I was salivating over having a go at it against an R8 I saw ,because with my car ,these V8 Audi's don't scare me one bit unless they decide to TT these babies.
By the way the R8 owner declined unfortunately.

A stock C55 will not beat up on a stock RS4.
And if you're talking about a tuned car, it's a big "so what?" from me.
Cars have enough issues without voiding warranties.
But that's tangential from the central point that a 350bhp stock vehicle is not weak, especially considering its price and quality. It's acceleration numbers are close to the E46 M3(which isn't shabby).
On top of all of that the S5 wasn't meant to run with the new M3s and C63s.If Audi is smart they'll do an RS5 in the $65k range.
From my experience I think a W203 C55 would give an RS4 a run for the $$ especially up top in a straight line!!
Also Not good what Gustav's modded E39 M5 did to that RS4 in the vid.

I think the W203 C55 will do quite well against the V8 Audi RS4
Improviz with his basically stck W208 CLK55 ate up two modded E39 M5's on the Texas air strip meet!
So imagine what he would have done to an RS4 V8 which has problems against a modded M5

However if I had a choice I'd like to own both cars as I think the RS4 is a great looking car but just too much $$ compared to the other offerings.

Modded cars are irrelevant to the point I was making, that 350HP stock isn't weak.

My point was simply that 350HP isn't weak (that's it). I generally prefer Bimmers to Audis(I have owned a 325Xi wagon, E46 M3, X3, and an M6) but this S5 looks pretty compelling as a daily driver. The S5 is the first reasonably priced Audi that I find stylish.
The 335i looks like another nice BMW but I highly doubt it can consistently beat an RS4 around a track. And it certainly won't beat one in a straight line.
The 335i is a lot cheaper so that would be expected.
I have heard the new 335 is fast but the simple fact is they are a dime per 3 dozen. They are everywhere and basically the new M3 demographic-wise. Since the S5 has been out, I think I have seen 1 on the road ever. Today alone, I probably saw 5 new 3 series coupes.
As regards being unimpressed with the 25th Anniversary S4, I'm not surprised. It was an overpriced bodykitted version of the standard car. I had the S4 and it was inoffensive with decent all weather performer with decent power but I was never expecting to be blown away. An engine shared with the A6 and unresolved suspension meant it was only going to be this way.
As regards comparing the RS4 (far better than S5 and S4) to your 335i, well they're in two different leagues. Very few people apart from you is going to argue this and the last thing we need around here is another BMW fan boy giving the rest of us a bad name.

Next you'll be telling me a 335i will crush my CLK63 Black.
