probably because its a straight up C63 section. hahaha

anyway, I dig the A/S5, it looks pretty nice and the price is attractive.
LOL +100 try an Audi forum. The S5 is weak sauce imo compared to most cars but does look nice.

Weak? It's 350HP and runs to 60 below 5 seconds.
I think it's a pretty nice vehicle. I am considering one as a winter driver.

Like I said weak. GL with your purchase though if It's a winter vehicle guess it's not all about power.

Apparently it's all about power to you.
If you think 350HP is weak than you have an incredibly skewed perspective.
And it's kind of weird coming from a 335i owner.

I agree. The S5 is a great vehicle. It would be an excellent DD. Beautiful interior and exterior.

I'm surprised in a car forum, by some of the comments, there are some that aren't really car enthusiasts...

Chill out.It's a nice car but 350hp with AWD loss really isn't that much. I had a pretty bad experience with my 25th Anniversary S4 maybe I'm biased. In regards to being werid coming from a 335i owner I make around ~390whp so It kinda seems weak sorry.

So do you consider the 420bhp of an R8 weak? Or the sub 500bhp of a GTR or 997TT weak compared to my 500 bhp CLK63 Black weak?
Hint: they're as fast or faster than my car.
A stock 335i is only around 300bhp and a stock S5 is 350bhp. So what if you voided the warranty and tuned it?
And are you saying you can't tune the Audi, too?

Well I'll tell you this,I like all of the Audi's.

My W202 C55 beats up on the RS4 V8 and would devour the S5. These cars are heavy as hell and I know that weight is a serious burden on those cars in a straight line run.

On a road course I'd take nothng from them though where I know they reign.

350hp nowadays is nothing for a V8. Not with all these new offerings that are out from AMG,"M",GM,Ford,Dodge,Chrysler,and other euro V8's I have not mentioned.

Today I have to admit I was salivating over having a go at it against an R8 I saw ,because with my car ,these V8 Audi's don't scare me one bit unless they decide to TT these babies. By the way the R8 owner declined unfortunately.

A stock C55 will not beat up on a stock RS4.
And if you're talking about a tuned car, it's a big "so what?" from me.
Cars have enough issues without voiding warranties.
But that's tangential from the central point that a 350bhp stock vehicle is not weak, especially considering its price and quality. It's acceleration numbers are close to the E46 M3(which isn't shabby).
On top of all of that the S5 wasn't meant to run with the new M3s and C63s.If Audi is smart they'll do an RS5 in the $65k range.

Then you r saying that a modded C55 would?

From my experience I think a W203 C55 would give an RS4 a run for the $$ especially up top in a straight line!!

Also Not good what Gustav's modded E39 M5 did to that RS4 in the vid.

Here:

Improviz W208 CLK55 stck vs two modded E39 M5's

I think the W203 C55 will do quite well against the V8 Audi RS4

Improviz with his basically stck W208 CLK55 ate up two modded E39 M5's on the Texas air strip meet!

So imagine what he would have done to an RS4 V8 which has problems against a modded M5

However if I had a choice I'd like to own both cars as I think the RS4 is a great looking car but just too much $$ compared to the other offerings.

Modded cars are irrelevant to the point I was making, that 350HP stock isn't weak.

Not to sound like a fanboy but straight up when I bought my 25th anniversary I thought it was sexy as hell and sounded great. I bought the car off the dealer Show room one of the 2 they were ever going to get #13 of of the 250 built. At the time I had a 05' 545i Auto and I thought that the Audi would be an upgrade for the "340hp" vs the BMW's "325hp" I was very dissappointed to find out otherwise. Not only did I find the BMW handled better (alot better) and FELT alot better during acceleration due to more tourqe(and just the power curve in general).The 545 was just also more comfortable and just an overall better car it even had a Better Stock soundsystem and the 20way adjustable seats in it were still better then the Recaro's in the Audi. Needless to say the Audi failed in my book and I got rid of it for all the reasons above and some mechanical issues I had with it.I vowed to never buy an Audi again except maybe the V10 R8 MAYBE (and for that price I might as well get a Gallardo or 997 TT other then that all the current Audi cars are just weak compared to competion and just have decent looks on it's side but not enough for me to buy another one. Anyway Since you decided to point out that the Audi is slower yet has more power and AWD and had ****ty tires vs High Performance Michellin tires that says enough right there and proves my point but since that was just a mini track on a TV show, Read the info I posted in the link below with a test done on a REAL race track where even the little 300hp 335i beat the 420hp RS4 around the track by over a second thats pretty embarrasing for audi imo check it out if you want.

My point was simply that 350HP isn't weak (that's it). I generally prefer Bimmers to Audis(I have owned a 325Xi wagon, E46 M3, X3, and an M6) but this S5 looks pretty compelling as a daily driver. The S5 is the first reasonably priced Audi that I find stylish.
The 335i looks like another nice BMW but I highly doubt it can consistently beat an RS4 around a track. And it certainly won't beat one in a straight line.
The 335i is a lot cheaper so that would be expected.

Lap times at "The Ring" (Nurburg):

335i = 8.26
RS4 = 8.14
S5 = 8.24

The S5 is a smooth car. You don't pay $$ these days for speed. You can put $10k into a junker and make it faster than 99% of the cars out there. Some may think $55k is alot to spend on only 350HP stock but then again that would make the $130k SL55 that much worse with only another 150HP.

I have heard the new 335 is fast but the simple fact is they are a dime per 3 dozen. They are everywhere and basically the new M3 demographic-wise. Since the S5 has been out, I think I have seen 1 on the road ever. Today alone, I probably saw 5 new 3 series coupes.

As regards being unimpressed with the 25th Anniversary S4, I'm not surprised. It was an overpriced bodykitted version of the standard car. I had the S4 and it was inoffensive with decent all weather performer with decent power but I was never expecting to be blown away. An engine shared with the A6 and unresolved suspension meant it was only going to be this way.

As regards comparing the RS4 (far better than S5 and S4) to your 335i, well they're in two different leagues. Very few people apart from you is going to argue this and the last thing we need around here is another BMW fan boy giving the rest of us a bad name.

And now the RS4 is slow? Sheez. It will chew up and spit out a 335i.
Next you'll be telling me a 335i will crush my CLK63 Black.

The S5 needs more hp for it's porkiness. It's a dog but still a nice looking car with nice interior and handles great. That goes for the RS4 too.
