patrick_y...

i just don't understand why so many people say, "if you have to ask the price, then you probably don't want to know," as well as, "if you have to ask the price, then you probably can't afford it."

i always ask price and do my best to lower it. and then i pay cash, as i did for all my cars, including my SL65.

now, i can understand how those that never blistered their hands to make their money might be unconcerned about cost. but i'd go so far as to say that the vast majority of people care where their money goes and what they get for it.

Sadly this new taxation system is going to kill all powerful cars in Finland. Soon the only ones driving cool cars will be government officials with their limousines.

This is also the cause why they will have no C63 test car at MB in Finland at least for now...

Hmm, perhaps you could consider a zero emission Tesla roadster then.

because making the electricity emits no CO2.........

and yes, solar or wind/ wave are true zero emission technologies, but what percentage of your power bill is made up of these sources?

Price

The car is going to come in at around $63,000 for a base vehicle. Adding P2 equipment will probably bring the car to approximately $70,000. Above that, 030 package should run 5 to 7 thousand if even available.

Are you sure about that P2 price?

MB already announced there will be an 030 package with the LSD, so we know that will be available. 030 is $8,500 on the E63. I would expect it would be bit lower on the C63, as you also guessed $5-7k.

But the P2 on the E63 is only $3620. So I don't see that the P2 alone would bring the car to $70k. But both P2 + 030 would break $70k. After sales tax and a little BS here and there, you are out the door for close to $80k.

I guess it's about as fast as a good Porsche, so perhaps its a good deal.

well i have a subscription to car and driver, and in their article hell-raising sedans, they mention the c63 amg as base: $63k and as tested (assuming fully loaded) at $73k. these prices do however have an asterisk next them meaning its a estimate.

That saying "if you have to ask..." is said more frequently spoken by people that don't have money. Anyone that worked for their money knows better

Thats right! I work hard for my money. If I'm gonna pay for a $20 lap dance I better get a knee in the crotch.

Enjoy your car, if you would be living here the price would be 3-4x what you will pay in the US if the price truly is 60000 dollars...

Wow it sucks to live here if you like cars...

Can you explain what you mean by "C63 ordered"?? Do you mean you put a down payment for a pre-order or did you actually get information from Benz to purchase the car? Because I have put my down payment for the C63 and I live in Toronto, Canada.. but as of yet no information on the car or any of its specs!

The dealer did however tell me that the price should start somewhere in the vicinity of $68,000 CAD.. which means around $60,000 US dollars! He didn't have any information on the car, but he was telling me from experience that since the New C-Class costs even less than the previous model, that accordingly should set the price lower on the upcoming C63 saloon as well. Due to the fact that the cost of the last C-Class was about a few thousand dollars higher than the current one.

Yes, that what it is, a pre-order down payment. I supposed to be #1 on the list, but it all depends what color and options you want, when you will get
your car. (Nothing released yet) I signed a paper, that says dealer will sell the
car @ sticker price, no overcharging. I can pull my money out anytime. Base price around $63000, I heard that from so many source now, that it's gotta be close. I think it will be around $70000-73000 out the door when it's all said and done.

Supposely this car is a gas guzzler, so countries like Finland that has that
stupid new taxing system are f****d. How about around $200000-$220000
for new C63? Not to mention that we are paying gas guzzler tax here in states too.

Yes.. same with mine! I have mine on pre-order and I think I was the 5th person to go on the list so I have a longer wait line in front of me, but again the rules are.. if you don't like the price or change your mind you get your money back, so there is nothing to worry about.

You may be no. 5 on the list, but when it comes time to place orders for real, a lot of those people will suddenly be off the list.

here in the UK , we pay annual road tax of between $150 -$640 depending on the C02 emmisons. I reckon that the C 63 will be close to the $640 per annum.

Cheers

I talked to my dealer yesterday. He doesn't have hard numbers yet. He did say something odd though. He said Mercedes will build a month worth of 2008 C63s in April and start the 2009s in May. He thought that was weird.
