Hmmmm, that is interesting. Maybe there will be some running changes in the C class so they will implement them early. One change will hopefully be a new 350 engine, and there might be some interior refinements along with mirrors like the GLK that would affect all lines.

Mercedes is not going to price out the current C32/55 owners by much on this one. Otherwise they will lose their niche as others already pointed out. I'm guessing 56,500k base- 66,500k loaded for the C63.

If mercedes follows pricing from the E55 to E63, the base price for the C63 should be $3,200 more than the 2006 C55.

The 2006 E55 base price was (MSRP $82,575*) and 2007 E63 is ($85,775*)

Good news if I'm right! We'll see very soon...

Wishful thinking indeed. I was on the dealer lot last week, looking at a E63 sticker and it had the gas guzzler tax on it.

if the pricing is under the new M, then i will be in a great position to pick up a 1 or 2 year old cherry C63. we all know how the depreciation hits.

C300 Sport
i was at my dealer's placing order for my C300 sport when I saw the C63 on display...here was how the conversation went:

Me: "Thats one sweet ride out there"
SalesMan: "True...a great ride and it would be one of the best things you could buy for 90 grand USD"

Me (thinking): "WTF!!!! 90Gs for a C!!""

I could have been mistaken - I can double check when I re-visit the dealer. Btw, its Brumos Mercedes in Jacksonville, FL.

Mercedes
Come on.... No way the C63 is going to cost anything close to that. E63 base is $86k. If I could upgrade from a C63 to an E63 for an extra $4000, nobody would ever buy the C63.

A Black 1
It almost seems like BMW is waiting for MB to announce price and MB is waiting on BMW to announce their price. It's like a Mexican standoff.

I still think it's going to be 56,500k base - 66,500k loaded for the C63.
Yeah, no way it's going to be close to the E63 price.

This is a stand off with the M3 on pricing... We'll know very soon!

2008 C350
I've heard rumors of base price in the low 60's. The W204 C350 base is $37K (about 45 loaded) and I don't see the C63 being priced more than 25K or so higher then the C350. Any higher then that and you will get into E AMG range.

As someone considering the C63 vs. the redesigned E class in a few years, I am assuming the price is going to be similar so I will choose to AMG or not to AMG based on what the new E looks like rather than the cost.

SLK 350
I don't think it's going to be cost more than a M3 due to the market share. On top of it, it has to be lower than M3 becasue BMW has the 4 years free maintenance. My 2 cents.

January 23, 2008 and BMW can get us the pricing on the M3 but MB can't pony up the details yet. What gives?

MBUSA is probably reshuffling the deck and playing with the #'s after BMW's announcement. Gotto maximize that margin while staying competitive with Bimmer and all.

Shouldn't be too much longer.
