Top Gear M3 vs C63AMG vs RS4 VIDEO!!!! Merry Christmas!

Funny how things have changed, a few years ago S4 vs M3 - Top Gear they said the M3 was lunacy and they liked the S4 better because it was more 'civilized'. Now the C63 is a lunatic compared the the M3 AND RS4.
All in all all 3 are great cars.

in my opinion the c63 is by far the best....o the m3 beat it by 5 sec so wats the deal cuz with wat i see thats the only think that the bimmer is better at cuz at everything else they mentioned the c63 was better. roomier, more practical, more power and faster in streight line. thouse are all street cars and when you pull next to a light on the street you dont ask your oponent lets take it to the track you go for that streight line to the next light. thouse are all luxury car that are tuned to be more fun that just a regular luxury car and by far you would have more fun in the c63.

I love that show. The production values are great and the hosts are really funny. In this instance, though, I think they let entertainment take the lead over science. They each get a car to advocate for, and they make up a story for the car. Jeremy decided the MB was a death-defying monster. I doubt that it's as out of control as he suggests, but it makes for a good story.
There will be more tests, and I'm sure on a longer track (e.g. VIR, Infineon) you'll see the C63 make up ground. And we all know that the tires can have a huge influence. Benz probably favors ride comfort and rain performance a bit more than BMW.
One theme I do NOT like is the tendency of reviewers and Benz/AMG representatives to throw the C32/C55 under the bus when talking about the C63. In Sports Car Int'l, the director of sales and marketing for AMG (Mario Spitzner) is quoted as follows: "The C63 is not a successor to the C55. We said, 'This time it is going to be different.'" You'll never hear BMW trashing out a prior generation M3 in an effort to sell the newer M3. You get the image of the AMG guys grabbing the C55 blueprints and crumpling them into a ball and tossing them into the corner.
I guess that's what you have to do when you're playing the "Me Too" game of marketing. I wish AMG could stake out a position as a more tolerable everyday supercar. There's a lot to be said for that.

There's another show where he tests one of the 65s, comments on how pointless that car is and how he loves it nontheless. Which brings us to the point - it doesn't realy matter which car is 'the ultimate performer', we have to love the car to buy it so we can love the whole experience of owning the car. The moment i realize that I'm truly in love with my C55 I stopped searching for compares with other cars and just enjoy my car. I know what I want next and eventhough I'm very excited about C63 it just wont serve my needs anymore.
Anyhow, what I'm trying to say is if you truly want C63 then does it really matter what car is the best because you already made up your mind!

I hear that the C63 is going to come with an automatic point or two on your license. MBUSA is in negotiations now with the US DOT to determine exactly how many.
That car is nuts.

what you boys forget to take into consideration is that the c63 does not have the same ride as the c55. the c55 was a better daily driver with superior ride quality. however, in an attempt to catch up to m3, they have sacrificed the ride quality to make a better handling car. in this respect they have not only failed to make it a better handling car, but also the essence of the AMG, while the m3 has narrowed the gap due to the adjustable suspension. Due to the fact that you can adjust the hardness it makes both a great daily driver because you can have it on soft and a great track car since you can stiffen it up. i'm sure many of you will be surprised with the difference it makes. so now the m3 has come closer to what the C55 used to offer, but at the same time has increased it current competitive advantage, that is being a better ALL around Performance Sedan.
however, i think that these car are going to be so close to each other that it will really come down to preference. All three are superb saloons.

the c63 is indeed a huge step away from the pedestrian C class when you consider the bespoke engine and front suspension. this car has a latent 75hp for a of total 525hp, just waiting to be uncorked. another thing (as i understand the system) the esp settings don't make sense. either on or off, but comes back on when brakes are activated. the car could have been great with 3 stages of esp (on/safety net/off) , more rubber, a proper lsd and a more precise tranny.
and i'll have to agree- the c63 does look quite flashy. exactly what the 20-30year olds want but not me. (old fart at 44) i dig the understated elegance of the m3. it's all personal preference tho.
here's pt3 didn't see it on the bmw forum. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtvMVp5C8oQ

flat plane v8 vs nascar sound
i remember telling a friend "if the new m3 comes with a flat plane v8 i'm selling my ferrari and c32 and buying 2"
there must be a reason bmw didn't go with the "racing" crank arrangement. they could have easily achieved 9000 rpm/500hp and perhaps, sound better than this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8t8k...eature=related

C63 is the new king of the road. M3 is a traitor to its heritage and it is a 3650lb pig w/ no torque. BMW has sold out one too many times and I used to be a diehard M3 fanatic back when E36 m3 was still king. BMW has lost their way, faster or not around the track its just not a true M3 anymore.
One thing M3 has done though is come full circle again. Just as with the E30 M3, the new M3 is now no longer the most superior platform for the 3-series. The 335 slightly modded will dominate the new M3 just as a slightly modded E30 325is could potentially destroy an E30 M3. Why anyone would buy a new M3 is beyond me when they can get a 335 for less and make a crapload more power out of it. The golden era of BMW is officially over... AMG is now king.
