RENNtech C32 AMG
well, I stopped by the dealer again today to check out all the models and compare the quality of materials. 2 out of 4 08 C's had a flimsy radio display cover that would not close, which I can see within the first 30K will be broken, the door panels are an absolute joke. The flat panel with hard rubber is the least impressive design I've seen from a European car. I looks like a domestic. The all black interior with aluminum trim, gave the impression of cheapness, the black/grey was way better. I hope the AMG will at least have a leather door panel. The over all design of the face lifted W203 had a classier more luxurious design than the new one. However the arm rest console are a definite improvement.

Just want to make sure...the cover that wouldn't close were those on cars without the COMAND system and just the standard radio? Because the flap is only power operated when the car has COMAND.

Yeah they started using these in the W203 C-Class in MY 2001. Unfortunately the only way to fill all the empty buttons is in Europe because they have all the options available there.

i like to ride my bike
I didn't say it looks bad. Except for the pre facelift w203.
But the new interior just looks more modern and a little better.
It surely is not perfect, but better. But which interior is
perfect anyways?? Not even Audis.

Mercedes E55 AMG
I was number 1 on the list for a new C63 but recently pulled out. The car's interior is just hideous/cheap and I hate the pop-up nav. Also, the car not having things like a pano roof or keyless go is a complete joke. Even the much ballyhooed hard drive is ridiculously small.

Therefore, I just bought a very low mileage fully loaded E55 AMG instead. Every option under the sun, an extended 7 year manufacturer's warranty, and a gorgeous interior for over $20K less than a new C63 and no initial depreciation massacre. The math was very simple. The car is awesome.

Now I'll put my name on the list for the redesigned E-class AMG when I can. I just hope I can get used to those square headlights!

Does the fact the the e92 M3 starts at $57K change some people mind? I'm gonna wait and see and test drive them all before forming conclusion. But a $13K delta base....

Let's compare sedans to sedans... the M3 sedan is starting at $54k, I believe. Of course, the options are quite pricey.

I will be considering the M3 coupe or the C63. I wouldn't touch the M3 sedan. I bet many other people will as well.

For me it's an aesthetic thing. I think the rear on the M3 is puke ugly. To each his own. I wish that I didn't feel this way since the sedan would have the same performance abilities and would be a little more practical.

Besides the carbon fiber roof, what else does the coupe have over the sedan? To me, the sedan seems much more of a sensible choice. I wouldn't be surprised if many aftermarket tuners will offer this for the sedan.

yeah, it's just on the non-COMAND. But that pop up will go out soon just like the tilt down passanger mirror did and the easy entry wheel/seat option. But hey, when it's under warrenty, whatever.

I think the convertible is the best choice. It's a bit slower than the coupe, but it fits four (or is it five?) and it has a hard top that can go down on a nice day. Having an SLK, it's hard for me to drive cars with fixed roofs anymore.

Yes it is, but it's also supposed to be a luxurious and practical drivers car which is why I chose the C55. The 63 is just missing a lot of that luxury I have come to expect in my 70k car. Heck, I was super excited about the pano roof for this car and always jealous of the E owners and then they go and make it unavailable for the C63. The engine/suspension/trans are all super on this car but beyond that it's quite dry and bland.

Sorry, just my opinion. I'm sure it DRIVES great but that isn't everything espceially when you live in a crowded city like me where you are stuck in traffic all the time. The little things matter most then.

BING BING BING ! ! ! Here is part of the reason we don't get certain extra luxuries other countries get in their models. The German auto makers need to cut corners to make that extra profit here in the States.

Over here in Hong Kong, I think quick a few people are holding out for the C63... The M3 and the GT-R is already out in Hong Kong, but with the crazy price that BMW HK is setting on the M3, I think the C63 is gonna sell pretty well over here...

E92 M3 - HK$1.368mil (approx. US$175.4K)
R35 GT-R - HK$1mil (approx. US$128.2K)
C63 - HK$1.088mil (approx. US$139.5K)

Which would you buy if this is the price you have to pay? hehehe..

Have you sat in it? Have you ridden in it?

It could drive TERRIBLE but be the most comfortable, ergonomic, perfectly balanced car youve ever been in. Point is, until youve been in it and experienced it, whats the point in getting down on it?

Just seeing people jump to conclusions based on internet speculation, its just pointless thats all. Wait until it comes out, then pass judgement.

I completely disagree. I enjoy driving my C55 as much if not more than my E46.

To each their own.
