LOL!!

Where was that?
I have been offered two M3s at list in the last month.
They're not rare. And any dealer that does that should have their dealership pulled.

That's Shelly's in Universal City that's had the link posted in post 3 or whatever number it is. Beverly Hills BMW are trying the same game. Nice car, especially in white, but not at that price.

More money than brains....I can't believe a dealer would even do that and expect to sell the thing. Retarded!

Whats with the $949 for the alarm system. I thought all BMWs have them plus the $895 paint protectant. What do they do send the car off for more clear coat? Aren't they forgeting the undercoating. Sounds like some nice rip offs to me.

Anyone who pays over MSRP for this should be forced to drive over an anti-tank mine. That's like paying over list for a Camry, there are going to be a zillion E90/92 M3's zipping around, more than any previous generation.

Besides, why not pick up an M5 for the same coin? Hellooooo....

Some idiot is going to pay over MSRP for an M3. Otherwise the dealers wouldn't be marking them up to begin with. So sad but true.

Nope...the 3 series doesn't come with an alarm, so it's not surprising they carried that screw-over to M3 buyers.

I can't speak for the M3 (no desire to buy one so I won't even ask the dealer), but ALL of the Nissan dealers within 300 miles of me are asking $20k over MSRP for the GT-R...in this economy...in the midwest! One even said he'd give me a deal and only charge $15k over sticker if I paid all up-front. Hopefully Nissan will ramp production from 1,600 to 2,400 as they've said they could if demand warrents it and then give those extra units to the dealers selling at MSRP.

We'll see what kind of an allocation these dealers get after Nissan Corporate gets wind of their price gouging. It's widespread and ridiculous for any Nissan. I expect it to die down in a few months.

Wow, no alarm for the 3 series. Is that an option on the C class now? So I can jack the car with a coat hanger? What is this, 1979?

I know how you feel. I had been trying to by a GT500 since they came out in Jun 06 and they still want about 15K over sticker for them around the DC area. Theres no way I'd pay over sticker for any thing expecially a Ford since my dad used to work for a dealer and he told me how much they made off the cheap cars. I can only imagine the money they get for a $45K mustang that starts out as a $20K car.

Besides from the numbers I have read the c63 will own it from 0-60 and even the quarter mile. So me and my family could embarrass one any time I felt like it in the Merc.

Call Power Ford in Valencia, CA. A friend's brother is order manger there and they have Shelby GT500s on their lot which they will sell for MSRP. Google the dealership and give them a call.

Sounds like you're not into tracking or twisties and hard to argue that in a straightline the C63 will own the M3.

Nope...standard on the c-class, C63, and Honda Civic. The issue of the car alarm was my 'go to hell' moment with the bmw dealer when he told me it didn't come standard and how much they charge for it. BMW USA either A) doesn't know how crappy it makes them look or B) don't care because the dealers love charging for it. More likely, the dealers probably like it because it's something cheap and easy they can "throw in" so it feels like they're giving you a break while it's all really crap. What's so funny about it to me is the 3-series, like all BMWs have that hideous giant red alarm light hanging from the rear view mirror, yet it's useless unless you buy the $900 car alarm. No idea if it blinks without an alarm.

If you ever get into a 335i, look at the little empty plastic dohickey slightly behind the driver's head in the middle...what's where it's supposed to go. Here's a pic...it's the off-colored red thing with the slits in it right in front of the rear interior lights.

Would that giant markup have anything to do with the falling US dollar? I know MB USA just raised prices for certain parts across the board on January 1 for that reason.

dealers will always ask for crazy mark-up, it depends on the buyer to negotiate. dealers know they wont get that price. they just want to set your mind so that if you paid msrp or 2k over msrp, you'd still think you got a good deal, while they already made good profit. i just picked up an evo x, asking was 5k over msrp, got it for waaay below msrp. i know it's not exactly the same market but they're both mass produced cars. happy hustling!!!

I had an M3, I just bought the alarm module online and installed it myself. Simple.
