Great numbers for the C63!

While I like that quote, how many people on this board are qualified enough drivers to participate in "powersliding hooliganism" instead of just spinning it into a lightpole?

Seems like every day I see another car with a "Formula D" decal on it that's missing some bodywork.

The lack of suspension/throttle adjustment and a LSD without the PP is heavily guiding this MB driver towards the M3.

The MDrive features that the M3 offers are really outstanding to play around with in person.

However, no matter how much I am tempted by the M3, I just can't get past the fact that the C63 has been blowing the M3 away in straight line speed comparisons. This straight line power is oh-so-temping and oh-so-practical as most of my daily driving will not take full advantage of what the M3's suspension is capable of. But I would damn sure everyday make use of the straight line power offered by the C63.

It is good to have great choices.

I'm still going to test drive the C63. Even with the M-DCT transmission coming out for the M3 I'm leaning towards the manual. This is another barrier to getting the C63. I love the way the C63 looks though and that exhaust note is nothing short of wonderful.

I believe Edmunds's car actually had the 030 package. At least the one they tested in an earlier review of the C63 had one. So the 68.6 slalom, while good, is 3 mph behind the M3. That's a huge difference where the C63's extra 200 lbs probably handicapped it significantly.

Red light to red light and highway speed runs however, the C63 definitely takes the trophy.

In the video you could see both rear tires spinning when they did the quarter mile runs. So that should mean that it had the 030 package in it.

Nope, you can also spin both tires on a open differential as long as you have equal traction on both rear tires. If one tire looses traction first, then it would become a one tire burn out.

Yeah it does say in the article they were eqipped with 030 package.

I agree. 95 percent of people on this forum, I being of of those people, wouldnt able to drive a car fast around a race track, or a corner. I think the M is a better overall car, but since most of us cant do those cool manuevers you see on the videos, a C63 will help you look cooler if you race the guy next to you at the light. (if it were up to me, i think i'd go for the M3.....seeing that I dont really race and 400hp is quite sufficient ha ha ha)
