Brand new Edmunds Comparison - C63 vs. M3 Sedan!!
Great numbers for the C63!

"Despite boasting similar power-to-weight ratios, the C63 runs notably quicker than the M3 sedan in a straight line. It clicks off the quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds at 113.7 mph, compared to the BMW's 12.9 seconds at 111.1 mph, an advantage of 0.4 second and 2.6 mph. Likewise, 60 mph comes up in 4.1 seconds in the Benz and 4.5 seconds in the Bimmer."
Best paragraph:
"The C63 is nevertheless a blast to drive hard on rotini-twisted roads, even if it might not be able to keep pace with the leaner M3 from point to point. For example, the C63 AMG's 68.6-mph effort through the slalom lags behind the M3's 71.8-mph performance by some margin. But if powersliding hooliganism is more your style, then the C63 is your choice, since it'll sustain a tail-out attitude around a corner until the steel cords show through the rear tires."
Seems like every day I see another car with a "Formula D" decal on it that's missing some bodywork.
However, no matter how much I am tempted by the M3, I just can't get past the fact that the C63 has been blowing the M3 away in straight line speed comparisons. This straight line power is oh-so-temping and oh-so-practical as most of my daily driving will not take full advantage of what the M3's suspension is capable of. But I would damn sure everyday make use of the straight line power offered by the C63.
Decisions decisions.

I'm still going to test drive the C63. Even with the M-DCT transmission coming out for the M3 I'm leaning towards the manual. This is another barrier to getting the C63. I love the way the C63 looks though and that exhaust note is nothing short of wonderful.

Red light to red light and highway speed runs however, the C63 definitely takes the trophy.
