Post "CobbTuning" Finally cracks GT-R's ECU..

It seems like the first aftermarket tuner has finally cracked the GT-R's ECU. That means no more speed limiter and detuned engine power. This combined with the Mine's Exhaust upgrade and holy crap this thing should put out explosive power and handling.

If you guys had to choose between an ECU'd GT-R and an ECU'd C63 for a daily driver (assuming you have no kids), which would you choose? Interesting choices.....

C63 with ECU/Exhaust: HP: Low 500's? Mid-500's possible? RWD/7-Speed Auto with paddle shifters/ 4-Door practicality/ probably pushing close to $80k with a few minor mods thrown in. 0 to 60: 3.9 sec. 1/4 Mile: low 12's? Top Speed: 190+

GT-R with ECU/Exhaust: HP: Maybe low to mid 600's? AWD/DSG with paddle shifters/ 2-Door Sports Luxury Car. Close to $80k with few minor mods also. 0 to 60: 3.1 sec. maybe? (stock is 3.3-3.5 sec.) 1/4 Mile: High 10's maybe?(stock is 11.5 sec.) Top Speed: maybe little over 200 MPH?

Hard choice, well, I'll probably take the C63 over GT-R as daily driver, it's just more practical for daily use. Will report back once I'd placed an order for a GT-R, by then, my wife's C63 should be well broken in.

for a practical fast mercedes sedan, it would make more sense to me to go with an E-AMG rather than a C. to get the quickest, best performing car for the money, i would take the nissan every day of the week and twice on sundays

A box on 4 wheels
C63 is more practical, and I can't imagine someone taking a client out to eat in a GTR.

Everybody knows the E is better than the C, but please read the question, C63 vs. GTR for daily use. Also, there's the price gap of 20k+ between the C63 & E63.

E63 biturbo
I've had my GTR for more than a month and to me it is NOT a daily driver. It is just a sports car that is very useable, but don't even compare it with the C63 with regards to which is a better DD.

How many here will have both the C63 and the GT-R? Our C63 is for my wife, and I am tempted to get a GT-R too. But this morning my wife ask me what purpose will the GT-R serve as I have previously convinced her that I need a track car (135i) so that I don't ruin my Aston Martin and the Golf GTI just doesn't cut it on the track. I had no answer except to say that I need another fast car lol. Jspeed, keen to hear more about your GT-R!

Do it!! You don't need to convince your wife about your next car purchase.

Cobb is just a few miles away from me. Gotta run up and check the thing out.

They got all pis-sed at me cause I wouldn't let them operate my car on their dyno up there. I told um, if it's gonna blow, it's gonna be with ME behind the wheel. We worked it out after and now we are great friends.
