700 hp C63

A friend was telling me about a 700 hp C63 is this possible or a load of ****?

he also told me that it had 30k in mods.. this was my friend's friend...

Are you talking WHP or crank HP figures, there is a big difference, that being said I don't think either is possible, especially WHP and not for less than$30,000. The only way you are going to get that kind of power is by tearing the enginge down and/or forced induction. Plus some nitrous on top of that.

My car makes 502, lows 600's at the crank, even with a 150 shot of nitrous I would still be 50whp off. I guess anything is possible, but this is another one I have to see to believe.

You sure he was not talking about a CL65 or something?

Two words if possible. Traction Nightmare. Seems pointless to me.

Exactly, even my measly 502wp I can spin my tires from 0-85mph when I try to. I can roll on from any speed between 5-80mph and spin the tires up. It looks and feels cool, but not really a desireable trait for a performance car.

You can never have enough power. My measily CLS55 with K4 makes about 640hp at the CRANK.

I would be more worried about what kind of torque would be put through the transmission, not so much with hp.

There is no tranny like the old 5 speed in the 55K blown cars. They can tolerate 1000nm of continuous torque throughput. Now thats engineering.

Its called a C74 with extra mods...

Mercedes-Benz tuner RENNtech has unveiled its latest tuning package for the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG at the 2010 Festival of Speed in Orlando, Florida.

Known as the C74, RENNtech gives the C 63 AMG a bunch of visual enhancement but the real story is under the hood. The 6.2L AMG V8 has been upgraded to produce a total of 605-hp with a maximum torque of 555 lb-ft. That allows the C 63 AMG to run a quarter mile in 11.4 seconds at 126 mph with a top speed of 204 mph.

The whole RENNtech C74 package is available for purchase starting at $11,950.

It is possible to get upwards in the 725hp range for about 20K from what I understand. While this is unnecessary, it is way cool!

700 hp I think is doable with long tube headers plus tune and NOS or headers plus tune plus supercharger.

Isn't there a guy in Colombia puting over 600 whp?
