Black Maple Wood

I ordered my C63 back in October and my build date is in May so I just wanted to confirm with my dealer with all of the specs that I ordered and I found out that they had me down for the Black Maple Wood trim. I have not seen any pictures of the C63 interior with the black maple trim. Does anyone out there have pictures to post? Should I stay with the maple or go with the aluminum. I do not have much time if I want to change. I ordered the all black interior so I think that the Black Maple might look good but would love to see some PICS first.

I thought black birdseye maple was always the default AMG trim on my last two 55s. I have a some brown wood with my current black interior and would have gotten the black, then aluminum if I had the choice.

Every picture that I have seen shows the aluminum.

if you look at the speed channel video were Paul Tracy is racing his c63 around the track it looks like his car has wood grain around the doors!

Hi all,

The C63 that I seen a couple of weeks ago had the black wood trim (black nappa interior as well), looked good. Discussing the aluminium versus wood trim option with my dealer, he said the aluminium shows up marks a lot more and as the trim is so thin, it is easy to put a permanent dent in the aluminium trim therefore I ordered the black wood trim.

Good luck with it.

The wood trim on Paul Tracy's car looked like Burl wood and not the Black Maple.

Stick with the Black Maple. Classy and sporty at the same time which is what AMG is all about.

The aluminum looks super cheesy in my opinion.

The demo car in HK has the black maple which looks great when I saw it during my test drive. It's more like a very dark brown color, but again, looks very nice. The picture is taken from a magazine since I don't have scanner at home, sorry..

I'd go with the black maple for sure. I've ordered mine with sahara beige leather and black maple - think it will look great. I am going to change my exterior choice though - just too many palladium silver ordered - think I'm going with good old pewter - should show off the body work really nicely and be a good match to the beige / black interior.

I am going to stay with the Black Maple Trim. I think it will look a little more classy than the aluminum. I would have gone with the carbon fiber if that was a option but we can't have everything we want. If someone does find a good picture of the Black maple please post it.

you are correct..but the poster said all the pictures of the c63 only show it with aluminum, and I replied that the car that Paul Tracy was driving had wood in it, so he can see what one looks like

I am just hoping that the wood will be pretty dark to match the all black interior. My wifes ML has the burl wood but she has the light interior so it matches great were I think the darker wood will look better with the darker interior.

I can confirm the denting issue with all the used Mercedes I looked at before I went new.

I too liked the aluminum for the sportier look but the dark wood is pretty nice and works with the new interior design of the C class.

I found this picture on Ebay, I think the Black Maple will even look better with the all black interior.

+1. Someone scratches the door alum trim when he releases the seat belt buckle.
