C63 at Dealer Question?
I have a C63 just delivered today. The dealer is in Santa Monica and I am in Seattle. The dealers here and in Portland will not have a C63 for weeks. I am ready to go down and pick-up the car but am a little hesitant for the following reason:
There are several changes scheduled for the '09 model Limited slip diff, sport mode (like I have on my Z4, and who knows what else.
The car that I can pick up this weekend has MM, P2, Full leather, I-pod. If I order the '09 it will be here in a few months; however, I will be able to get the up graded options and Palladium Silver and red leather. This one, waiting for me is Steel Gray and black.
My current C350, which I did not wait for does not have the MM package as it was not available with the first shipments, I took delivery 8/25/07, and I kind of felt bad that I did not wait. However, I got over it..
What do you think? What would you do?
Thanks for your input.

you got over it before, but now that you're familiar with the chassis, why not wait a bit? besides, with the economy in its current state i would imagine there will be more wiggle room on pricing in a few months.

The earliest you could get your '09s are around Aug/Sep so that might be an issue for you.
Also, I did not know that they offer red interior to the AMG?

Some people are actually not taking the performance package because the ride will be even stiffer. IDK what your tolerance is but it might be too stiff because all the reviewers with the AMG performance package said that the ride was 'born-shattering'. Also, the maintenance cost will be higher since you'll need more tires and pads will cost more.

If I order I can get the red. Aug/Sep delivery not a problem. The too stiff ride that is something I will have to consider.

they better give you a good price otherwise seems like you're in no real hurry, you could wait a few months for the 09
depending on how long you plan to keep the car, take into consideration 09 resale will be better than 08 model for what a few months wait...

it's an AMG. resale depreciation is approaching GM levels of pain.
unless something's changed in the past few years (and there's no reason to think so), MB will dump all their remaining inventory in about 2-3 months to clear the decks for the '09's, disemboweling the resale values of AMG's because of the glut of "pre-depreciated" new ones available. My last new car was an '05 E55 wagon, which I bought on Labor Day 2005. the discount from the dealer was obscene. however, in that context i guess it's hard not to enjoy a little pr0n0!

Bargain hard? I doubt they will discount it a dime since they are so new. Good luck. Please purchase this one so I can see pics. I ordered a Steel Gray with black interior and mine will not be in until mid June.

I viewed the photos and do not like the Steel Gray w/ black int. If any one is interested, this car is at W.I. Simminson (wrong spelling) in Santa Monica, ask for Andrew. If you want to view the photos

pathetic... just pull the trigger if you want it, you live once... I laugh all the time when i hear "maybe the dealer will come off the price" You think that this little band of internet represents the buying force out there? for every 1 of you here there are 99+ real buyers out there with the money to do it. let's see the local dealer sold all of his, is looking for more dealers to get some from...
Also AMG stock is going to rise very soon. curbing the depreciation. AMG performance centers, more advertising the AMG models, more bad **** rides coming out...
Caddy is losing CTS V sales to MB, heard it from 2 caddy dealerships and a GM tuner (Mallett)

depends on how long you are going to keep the car, if you are keeping it longer than 4/5 years, then get what you want! otherwise you will regret it.

bargain hard? for what? some people are so cheap - you want a toy like that upon initial release expect to pay full sticker. IF YOU WANT A BARGAIN DONT LOOK TO HAVE 030, MULTIMEDIA and whatever else you desire.
