Got my C63 today. Holy Sh!!!t
I have had 23 cars in four years and this is my favorite one so far. Previous notable cars, SL65, S63, CLK BS, E63, E55, 360 Ferrari.
The suspension on this car is unreal. I live in the canyons in Los Angeles and pushed the car to it's limits. There are a few long sweepers that I would go 72-78 MPH in the CLK BS, and in the C63 I'm easily hitting 92-96 MPH around the same turns. Granted once the car breaks in, I'm sure it will get better. But for right now, the odometer sits at 32 miles. It could use some more power, but Renntech will take care of that for me. The brakes kick ***, as do the seats. I loved my CLK BS, but I love this one more. The steering wheel rivals the steering wheel from the CLK BS. My hats off to AMG for this one. I will post pics tomorrow.

It's an 08. The ride quality is great, but I ordered some coilovers already. They will be here in two weeks. Hopefully that will stiffen up the ride a bit and give me some good adjustability.

I see you also drive an Evo MR, how do you compare the ride quality and handling compared to the C63? I've currently got the Evo MR and am wishing to get a comparison between the Evo and C63 in that aspect. Thanks.

And I'm sure the C63 has ***** and handles well, but I'd still rock and prefer the SL65 over the C63. Nothing better than a droptop But the 360 would be my favorite. You'll get over it in a few weeks

The CLK BS should be better. All I know is that when I'm flying around these corners and turns, the C63 maintains more MPH than the CLK BS.

It's hard to compare AWD to RWD. The Evo handles great with full suspension, but the C63 has a much more solid and confident feeling.

I had my 360 for about eight months. It was a great car and sounded even better, but it only has 400 hp. and 275 tq. The feeling through the steering wheel is very direct in the 360, but around these corners the C63 would take it anyday. I used to run the Malibu canyons every weekend in the 360 and it was a blast, especially with no cats and a Capristo exhaust. Nothing feels like a Ferrari, and you can call me crazy, but for the all around car, I like the 63.

A 360 with 400hp would have a better power to weight ratio than a 4k pound C63 anyways, so I find your post a bit hard to believe.

the C63 has a great chassis and weight distribution which are the most important assets of a car to have good handling. What makes the C63 hard to handle while pushing it to its limits in the bends is the little POS 255 tires in the back. Too much torque and no grip. The suspension is great, although some strut bars and perhaps an even stiffer suspension and fatter tires can make this car and excellent track car.
I rode yesterday with my buddy in an EVO X GSR. He was car shopping. Man that car handles amazing. We went around a round-a-bout so fast and it didnt even screetch the tires. I'm sure that if I would've done that in the C63///AMG I would've understeered my way out lol, I **** you not. Other than that, thats about it, car is dull on the inside and wont see the light of day against a C63 in a straight.
Congrats on your purchase!

I will take better pics when it is clean. If you have ever driven a 360 you would know it's not the fastest car. It's the overall feel of the car and the look that makes it such a different machine.

Good old Schuren/Stunt intersection -- look out. I used to spend so many sets of tires and brakes on the piuma/schuren/stunt/mulhulland/cold canyon loop.
What area were you saying hte C63 is that much quicker through? I can relate in that a car that is a bit softer out there will absorb the bumps and maintain speed much better than a very stiff track style car. Those roads are extremely challenging and going through there at a serious clip will stress your car in ways a track wont. You dont go as quickly on the road but with the bumps and changes in camber(and pavement) means you need a much more forgiving car. How does the C63 feel on Molhulland from the rock store to the look out (up hill run)? Does that tighter stuff leave it a bit flummoxed?
I can see the C63 being quicker there but at big willow I think the CLK BS will clean house as you can just lay in it straight through 7 and 8 and fly through 9 (giving you a serious head of steam coming into 1.
Glad you love the car. I really need to go place my order.
