Possible to test drive a c63?
Anyone in nyc/jersey actually get to test drive a c63, not sure i can buy it without test driving it first. Seems impossible to find amg models to test drive though.

Not sure about the answer to your question, but I won't buy a car without a test drive. A few years ago a local Chevy dealer wouldn't let me drive a new Z06. I drove across town to another one that did - and I bought it from him. I'm sure the C63 is all it's cracked up to be, but I'm not spending that kind of dough without a test drive. Even if it's around the block.

im 6'6''
not skinny, but def not a linebacker (225lbs)
im good in the car.....no one can sit behind me tho
the seat wasnt all the way back even, but almost there.....but the steering wheel had to extend all the way
anyways, if ur 240+ go sit in it
its not the size of the car that can be a problem, but the shape of the seats

Yeah me too, There are three puttons on the right side. I just randomly pressed their respective posterior regions and majically the bolsters became less restrictive. I'm 6'4'' 300 but people never think I'm that heavy I'm just really quite dense especially my lower body. It's a curse for swimming, I cant float at all. HAHA.

I have never bought or owned a Mercedes either but the dealer in Dallas let me test drive the car(however I had put a $1000 deposit for the C63 being built next month) The Dallas dealer has a demo C63 on the lot available for test drives!!

I've owned 4 AMG models and test drove them all. There's nothing special about test driving an AMG; the problem is that the C63 is new and in demand. If the dealers can sell them as they come in, you'll find a test drive difficult to arrange. Once the market settles down (and it will), it will be like any other car.

I test drove an '08 in Dallas last week and ended up cancelling my July build MY 2009 order. A wonderful car but simply just wasn't what I expected. So, to the original poster, there are dealers out there who will allow you to test drive.

mp2103, which Mercedes dealership was it in Dallas? I'm in Austin, but I can't seem to find anything around here or even San Antonio that has one on the lots to even sit in.

Not in Manhattan either
simply because there are none in stock
some staff members at MBM speculate that they will not have a phisical car on the show room until late 08.
there is a "AMG Challenge Driving Event" in Pocono raceway September 16 & 17, 2008
but there is a big entrance fee of $1,295 per person.
they will feature the C63 AMG

Last Emperor, I was expecting - make that hoping, that the car's suspension wouldn't be too awful on the crappy roads we have around here in the DFW area. I was wrong. There would be no way this car could be my DD for 2 - 3 years or more importantly, my wife would tolerate even one ride. The car is a nice vehicle, don't get me wrong, just not for me. Loved the exhaust note, the engine, the tranny and exterior looks. The seats were indeed snug on me even after adjusting the bolsters and I'm far from being a big guy at 5'-9" 170lbs. Maybe AMG has a particular driver demographic in mind to purchase this car, I don't know. The interior (mainly dash/instrument layout) wasn't much of a step up from the regular C-class which is why I immediately scratched the IS-F off of my list. If I'm going to pay in excess of $20K over the regular models, I want differentiation. I'm just glad I was given the opportunity to try it before I let the new car syndrom take over when it arrived and drove off the lot with something I would regret 3 - 6 months later. If I was constantly driving on highways and good roads, it would have been tolerable.

In the end it is all about personal preference and depends on what suspension you have been recently driving as well.
I was even considering changing to the PP option but was too late as my MY09 C63 is scheduled to be built in 3 weeks.
