Fuel Tank Size of C63
I could not find info with the fuel tank size (gallons) of the new C class / C63. At 12mpg I was wondering what kind of range I would have per tank full.
Base on the way gas prices are going, by the time my 09' gets here fuel will cost $6-$7 per gallon.

17 gal. tank, thats it! Please tell me that is not right. At 12-15 mpg on 17gal. tank thats like 255 miles at best.
Someone please tell me the 66L / 17gal. tank is a misprint.

I can only manage 190-220 miles per tank, that's city's stop and go traffic count, but I'm sure you can get more out of it on the highways.

Well that sucks. If I can not even drive from Baton Rouge, LA. to Houston, Tx. (about 300-320 miles) on one tank than thats sad. Performance V8 or not, that tank is way to small. I need to re think this C63 thing again.

The C class has a fuel tank capacity of 66 liters with a reserve of 8 liters.
The C63 has 66 liters with a reserve of 14 liters. So this
is 17.43 gallons + 3.69 Gallons = 21.12 gallons.
This is per the 2008 C63 owner's manual.

Right out of the manual, Fuel tank is 17.43 US gal which includeds a reserve of 2.11 gal.
Glock Guru, you may be able to make it to Houston on a tank, but I think you would be sucking fumes. On the first tank for Baton Rouge to Fairhope I think I got I remember calculating 16.5 MPG when I filled up the first time. When we left the dealer my fuel gauge showed full and we were the only drivers of the car prior to delivery. I'm assuming they had it full.
I may be vain, but I think I will get into the 18's on the hwy once car is fully broken in.

The fuel tank holds only 17.43 gals. If the owners manual is correct the reserve is 3.7 gal. which is included in the 17.43. The way I read it, is the reserve is included, not additional.

The tank is 66 Ltrs or 17.43 US Gal TOTAL Volume. The reserve is part of this total. Trust me, I have tested this to the point of running out of fuel to confirm.
That said, fuel economy on the C55 and C63 are virtually the same. In city I get 420 Klm or 263 miles per tank. Highway I get 650 Klm or 406 miles per tank. I fully expect the the C63 to offer the same results......

I looked into my manual, and it said 17.43 gal WITH 3.7 gal included. So 17.43 TOTAL. The tank is on the small side, but it's better MPG than my M6.

Well that sucks. Some rice burners has a bigger tank than that. What was AMG/MB thinking? A 6.2L V8 powerhouse and only install a 17 gallon tank.
Well something to think about I guess. Wishful thinking they would make the tank bigger for 09'
I wanted a performance sedan, just not one I needed to fuel up every 200 miles.
