C63 Engine + tranny + exhaust = amazing combination

I have about 600 miles on my 2008 C63 now and been driving it with the trans in "Sport" mode most of the time. Wow, is it ever SWEET.

Today I was moving along quickly on the freeway, when traffic came to a fast stop. So I braked moderately hard... the engine blipped and downshifted through 3 gears... 3 times I got to hear that amazing BLIP, vroom, burble pop, BLIP, vroom, burble pop.... OMG it was heaven. I just yelled YEAHHHH with this huge grin on my face.

I love this car and am so happy I chose it over the M3 Sedan DKG.

Just thought I would post.
63 engine + 7Gtronic trans + loud exhaust = pure satisfaction.

Hans!!!...you took it out of "C" before 1000miles!!! THE HORROR! SACRILEGE!

just kidding of course, i have put mine is "S" to get more rev-range during break in, but managed not to kick down. i have yet to hear this sweet sound, and anxiously await the further joys of this beast. i love your reaction to the sound. i imagine mine will be the same.

side note: i have found that i get better gas mileage in S as opposed to C. a little odd, no?

Drove it daily to work this week. I love this car.

Yeah! Sacrilege!! What got me into "S" mode was the comment made by the service advisor when I brought it in at approx 200 miles to get the camshaft position sensor replaced. He asked me why I was driving it in comfort mode. I didn't really have an answer... umm... owner's manual? We had a discussion about break-in (ok it was mostly me expressing my reservations) and he told me to just drive it the way I wanted to, and have fun. Of course I know that the ECU logs everything I'm doing so I am not going to just flog it and risk the possibility of warranty denial. However the dealership service dept put 10 miles on my car during that "fix." Whatever the tech may have done during the road test is/was out of my control. So.... The car is running great, and it's fixed, so I am happy.

Interesting observation on the mpg in "C" vs "S" ... maybe because you have to lay into the throttle a little more in "C" to get a reaction? That is why I just decided to drive in "S" most of the time. Everything is more sensitive and immediate. And I can still keep where I want to be on the tach...

And... you can hear that sweet sound of a throttle-blip downshift even within break-in rpms! Just motor along at a quick clip, then brake and she'll do the rest.

It's an incredible car, eh? The complete package I was looking for.
