C63 Engine + tranny + exhaust = amazing combination
Today I was moving along quickly on the freeway, when traffic came to a fast stop. So I braked moderately hard... the engine blipped and downshifted through 3 gears... 3 times I got to hear that amazing BLIP, vroom, burble pop, BLIP, vroom, burble pop.... OMG it was heaven. I just yelled YEAHHHH with this huge grin on my face.
I love this car and am so happy I chose it over the M3 Sedan DKG.
Just thought I would post.
63 engine + 7Gtronic trans + loud exhaust = pure satisfaction.
just kidding of course, i have put mine is "S" to get more rev-range during break in, but managed not to kick down. i have yet to hear this sweet sound, and anxiously await the further joys of this beast. i love your reaction to the sound. i imagine mine will be the same.
side note: i have found that i get better gas mileage in S as opposed to C. a little odd, no?
Drove it daily to work this week. I love this car.

The car is running great, and it's fixed, so I am happy.Interesting observation on the mpg in "C" vs "S" ... maybe because you have to lay into the throttle a little more in "C" to get a reaction? That is why I just decided to drive in "S" most of the time. Everything is more sensitive and immediate. And I can still keep where I want to be on the tach...
And... you can hear that sweet sound of a throttle-blip downshift even within break-in rpms! Just motor along at a quick clip, then brake and she'll do the rest.
It's an incredible car, eh? The complete package I was looking for.
