so i had someone call me from MB customer servcie, and they told me they looked into my questions about there being a shortage

here is what i was told:

this is a MB worldwide shortage, not just mb usa

mb is trying to find a different manufacturer to solve this issue

vehicles with CF may not be available till the 4th quarter

here is where it gets weird

there are a certain percentage of vehicles that will be built with the CF trim

now a logical person would think its first come first serv on that option...but noooooooo

cars will just arrive with CF in them

whether you ordered it or not!!!!!

i asked the guy what can i do to make sure i get it, he said nothing
he also said you wont be able to order the car with the CF trim for now

again, he said you wont know which car has CF until its at the dealership

he also told me that people who ordered maple or aluminum....their cars will just arrive with CF in them!!!!!!

whether they want it or not

this is soooooooooooooooooooo stupid

if CF is limited, why not give it to the first people who ordered it???

instead, mbusa is just gonna f*ck up everyones order by giving CF to ppl who didnt order it, and not having CF available to ppl who did order it

sooooo weird!!!!!!!

DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY GOOD AFTER MKT OPTIONS FOR CF ON THE C CLASS???

That does not make any logical sense I ordered Black Maple wood in mine because I like the way it looks and did not want to spend the extra money. I would take the CF it was the same price but if you special order the car and it comes in how can they charge you extra money when you did not order it My car is being built within the next week so I am sure that I will not get the CF. Maybe that person was clueless

ditto. mine is being built in 2 days. wanted and prefer the black maple. would take the cf if it came in (waited long enough!) but it wouldn't fit the look I'm going for with the car and I wouldn't pay a penny more for it.

I doubt he's clueless but who knows
anything is possible

He took 3 days to research this issue, and said he spoke to Germany

And guys I know it makes no sense, but thats what he said

If you ordered maple or aluminum there is a very SMALL chance youll get CF
and if you do get it, it won't be free!!!!

And if you won't want to pay the extra 2500
YOURE BEAT!!!!!

Sounds crazy, but I asked him the same thing you guys are bringing up

I have a really hard time believing they would do that because you are throwing away customers and opening the door for possible lawsuits if it's done on purpose like you are stating.

You might want to double check the facts with another party because although I agree with the cause I do not think they will roll the dice and put CF in ordered cars when it isn't wanted.

i have a really hard time beliving it too
but thats what was said

here is what he told me:

-wont be able to place the order for CF at the moment
-only a small percentage of cars will have CF
-no way to know which ones will have it until theyre actually at the dealer
-no way for the dealer to get CF in specific requested vehicle
-it will be $2500

this is not someone from the dealership
its someone from mbusa customer care service

he took my #, said he researched it and called me back

it sounds idiotic, and i hope its bull****!

Carlsson offers a CF dash kit. This source lists it for W204 C300 or C350 but the dash trim is the same
