No it's not, it's infantile.
Depends on the chip/tune etc etc
5 mile track, 1/4mile drag?
Who cares? C63 is a far nicer car with better bodywork, brakes and engine. If you do truly have one then the last thing you should care about is a warranty-less 335.
Anyway, don't meant to be harsh just calling it as I see it. Welcome to the forum.

Does it matter? Two totally different cars, cant compare the two, that is why BMW builds the M series, to compete with AMG.

depending on the chip, it would be close.... the 335i can pick up 80HP from the chip, and it's 400+ pounds lighter than the C63...... I think the C63 would have the edge though....

Well..Let's put it like this. I have just sold my 2008 335 Coupe with Chip, Catless Downpipes, Full Exhaust, Suspension..BBS wheels and etc.MY car was/is fast...kept pulling and pulling....I don't deny that the car is amazing..and one of the faster cars to mod..but I think in my head, in all honesty..the C63 will prevail. The Dinan 335 which was modded out of the a** couldn't beat a stock m3...Below is video of Dinan VS M3

Not even a close match. While my 335i was chipped with upgrades, it was not as fast as my C63 stock. Those tiny turbos run out fast. Upgraded turbos would be a different story.

Seriously, though - if an ECU-only 335 can 12.3, that is deep into C63 territory.

A MB is just a magical car that automatically is above such comparisons, and wins every time.
PS - I love your freaking dog. Handsome animal!!!

with so many DME restrictions to the N54 by BWM Software Engineers, my desire to have a dialy 135 is gone.
Even if piggy back tuners turn to ECU flashes.. seems like you will have to keep updating your ECU with so many updates. Unless you have a tuner nearby.. its going to be a pain.
The tunning of the N54 will go on.. but it has definately lost some steam.
There will be modded N54, but not as before.

actaully v2 modded 335i's alone can run into 12.5's easily.
FWIW, V2 e92 335i vs e92 m3
http://www.vimeo.com/1057389
the e92 V2 335i took it all the way...
FWIW, my cuzin just got a chipped 335i, its pretty tq'y and fast. the 335i smooth I6 can mislead the feeling of speed.
after running into one on the street a while ago, my guess a heavy modded one, my thought were in between 335i coupe and a C63 but, i am going with the C63, for many reasons esp warranty
P.S.
edmunds/insideline TESTS of both, besides accelaration
C63 AMG w/ amg performance package
30 - 0 (ft): 30
60 - 0 (ft): 114
Braking Rating (Excellent, Good, Average, Poor or Very Poor): Very Good
Slalom (mph): 68.6
Skid Pad Lateral acceleration (g): 0.89
(c63 vs m3 comparison and stand alone)
e92 335i w/ sports package and 6 speed tranny
30 - 0 (ft): 26
60 - 0 (ft): 109
Braking Rating: (Excellent, Good, Average, Poor or Very Poor) Excellent
Slalom (mph): 69.5
Skid Pad Lateral acceleration (g): 0.89
(335i vs g37 comparison)
there good cars for the price, and something not to take lightly when modded, but a modded V8 is just even more sexy. with all the turbos issues alone to rise, modding doesnt seem like a likely situation esp whe comparing to a stock car.

with just a chip, that 335i pulls very hard, 12.3 @ 114 MPH..... it would be VERY close..... maybe your 335i wasn't tuned that well...... there are some drastic differences between the ecu upgrades.....

Do you know what gas it was using? What kind of tune? Tires? Weight Reduction? Lots of these little things have a part in generating the results you saw. When it comes to tuning my own cars, I know exactly how I want them to be, if it's daily beaten, like my old 335i, I'd like to leave a little head room just to be safe, but for my race machines, I always get the max out of them given the fact they will never see street duties.

if were talking about the same 335i that is on youtube, then he had a K&N air filter drop in the box, a v2 PROcede, and 100 octane mix with 93.
he was on stock runflat tires and it was a automatic... very nice but how long will those turbos last?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=cVMmkNcdpG4
my guess, with full exhaust+DP, FMIC upgrade, more boost racegas and a CAI still left on the table, this same car with some sticky rubber would see well in the 11's. but wouldnt last to 50k miles haha
