Anyone trade their 911TT for a C63??

Hey guys, been watching the board for several weeks and I believe I'm ready to make the leap and swap in the my 03' X50 911TT for a C63. Has anyone owned or driven a 911 TT that could comment on performance of the Benz in comparison? I know there are considerable differences as far as sedan vs coupe, etc. etc. however this car is my daily ride and as my family has expanded I finally feel I need to have something with 4drs. Thanks in advance and any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!

Didn't trade it for the 63, but I had a '07 911 Turbo. There is no comparison between these two cars. The 911 is most likely faster than anything MB makes. The turbo I had actually road as good as maybe better than the 63. Two complete different cars. I can say that the 63 is just as much fun to drive as the 911. Plus you can actually get 4 adults in the C63. Can't do that with the 911. For less than half the money for a 911, the C63 is one great bargain.

The 997 TT is a different animal than a 996 TT for sure. I just can't believe that a NA 450hp car is that "incredibly" different from my 450hp turbo'd car save for the 500lbs weight difference. My thought was to get the C63 with a Renntech ecu & maybe the airbox mod to put the car in the 500hp arena. The 996TT will always be a stronger overall perfomer however, without driving a C63, I just wanted to get someone's perspective with seat time in both. My main concern is straight line perfomance considering I'm going to have to make a practicallity decision for more doors regardless.

Straight line performance should be fine. A big V8 is quite torquey and actually makes up for a lot. Even so, i think both cars are equally fast... close enough anyways. The cars are different due to the 911's AWD and Rear engine layout. Front engine RWD is a different animal altogether. Judging from your car list, you shouldn't have a problem with controlling a muscle car. Only thing is the Porsche feels like a sports car, where the C63 feels like a sedan.

I know its not a c63 but the e55 and the 996 turbo are very close in performance stock...

Judging but this, your posts in other threads and the time that you posted them - where you drunk?

BTW, IMO two wildly different cars. I'm clearly a huge C63 fan and completely agree with your rationale for making the switch, but they aren't really comparable cars. So different in so many ways. But the fact is they are both great and fun in their own ways. Enjoy!

I've raced both cars, basically back to back....in straightline speed they are very similiar. The C63 has lots of torque...

Hope that helped somewhat.

I see that you had a BMW 550i and have you taken delivery or driven the C63 yet? If so, how do they compare in terms of interior space and trunk space? I have a 545i and I am considering the C63 as its replacement but I am a bit concern with the reduced space, especially width wise in the back seat and trunk space. Can you comment?

I assume performance is a non-starter with the C63 being much faster and more dynamic as well.

Hope to take delivery tomorrow (long shot), Wednesday (more likely) or Thursday (pretty much certain) - come on MBUSA!!!

Will be happy to post impressions when I get it. from my quick look to this point, trunk space seems similar with the C63 having a better fold down rear seat versus the silly angled fold in the 5 which means you can't load much through anyway. The interior does seem a little smaller, but with the sports seats I kind of like the cockpit smaller car feel anyway. Will hopefully be able to give me details in a day or two.

That is basically the question that I have, I know that a C63 will not be anywhere near the performance of a 996 TT on the track, I was hoping that it would be somewhat close in a straight line. Tailout tire smoking fun is worth a lot in the "fun to drive category" and something awfully different than the rear engine awd Turbo. I just need to decide if the C63 is going with Black or White

I also got rid of my 02 X50. The cars i'm looking at are M3 with DCT, C63 and GT-R. I'm leaning towards GT-R today but

I sold my 996 TT a few months back. My 996 TT was also my daily driver. Now have a C63. The C63 is just as fun as the 996 TT. It feels just as fast as a stock 996 TT. The only thing I miss about my 996 TT is the power. I had the EVO 750 kit.

To me the C63 feels just as much as a sports car as my 996 and even my Viper. But the c63 has 4 doors and back seats. IM happy with the car. But it would be nice to have it making about 600 - 700 hp.
