Arrow Noticeable vibration in back seat

Had an 09 C63 on a test drive and at 40-45 mph there was a strong vibration on the back seat bench. Is this normal or a defect?

The rear tires probably need to be balanced.

+1.

Shake in the rear/whole car - rear tire out of balance
Shake thru the steering wheel - front tire out of balance

In my experience this has proven to be the case with vibration..... YMMV!

Thanks for the replies. I didn't know a rear tire out of balance could cause a vibration in the back seat. The car drives great, fantastic exhaust note, great brakes. The interior quality was disappointing (particularly on the doors), even with the AMG leather package.

09 C63 (Coming Soon)
After the nightmares I had with my RRS S/C with steering issues, I would definitely not buy that particular car. At least drive another one to make sure it is not a normal sensation. Ask other members, the car seems pretty straightforward driving at 40 mph (a walk in the park). You may hear and feel other things when driving much faster (but that is another story)

Not sure I agree with your interior quality comment, especially specific to the doors (pic attached) - they're almost entirely leather, wood and a little chrome, save the plastic at the top and the ugly door lock pin. For a car in this class I think the interior is great. Let us now forget, while special, this is still a C. Overall though, I love it.

The AMG package leather is great and the two-tone is tastefully done, but I'm a little disappointed with the door sills and dash materials. I also don't care for the plastic seatbacks, but I can see how they would come in handy if you had small children in the back.

For those getting CF trim matching seat backs would be a stunning addition. I'm sure a custom shop would make them for the right $'s
