My dealer just contacted me to let me know that they have an 030 car (PP) that arrived and its owner passed. The car came in with the LSD, Brakes, but without the steering wheel. If I could get the C63 w/o the steering wheel I would, based on my experience with the alcantara in my old "blown" M3 comp car. The only downsides for me are, timing (haven't come off my 911TT), the dealer not willing to make in price concessions on an incomplete package, and resale down the road. The only minor thing is C63 in-stock doesnt have alum. trim it is the dark maple, which isn't really a deal killer. What are your thoughts and downsides to not having the steering wheel?? Thanks!

The 2 PP C63's that came into ParkPlace Dallas this week DID NOT have the Alcantara steering wheel.... weird!

So, whats the deal? Why does the invoice say one thing and the car has another? Last wee we had a post on this forum but was taken down because if was determined to be a fake. Well looks like the "forum police" jumped the gun. Please save us from free speech, Thanks guys.

Well I for one am calling MB USA to try to get some answers.

Were are all the "people in the know" on this forum that know everything MB / AMG that told use up and down stop talking about a beat to death topic. Looks like MB dropped the ball. My car will be at the dealer this week. So the window sticker say it has it, the car does not. Who can say if any of the other parts of the PP are on the car. Can you look at the dif and see it is a LS? How do you know the speed limit is now higher? Does it have the brake up grade? Can you look at the shocks and springs and see the are differ that the ones on that came on the U.S. 08' models?

We need some answers.

Here in the UK there are two options - AMG Performance Package, which evidently includes :

AMG Performance Package 3210GBP
-Aluminium trim
-AMG Differential lock

AND

AMG Drivers Package 2230GBP
-No Description

The two are not mutually exclusive, you can order both or either individually.

Standard on Car :
- AMG sport seats with integral head restraints
- AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel
- AMG instrument cluster
- Bi-Xenon headlamps (S)

The dealer won't alter the price? That's pretty dumb, I would call MBUSA and ask them what's up.

I have an email into my salesperson and his manager, telling them what people on this forum are reporting, and for them to ask their regional manager about what we are going to do if the car comes without the alcantara steering wheel.

Everyone slow down a bit.

Back in 2003 when the S and CL55 kompressor cars came out the first cars came with the wrong wheels and the sticker said they should have the amg specific wheels. It was likely an availability issue and they had to keep production going.

Chances are that if you have a car without the wheel and the sticker mentions it the factory will put the wheel in for you when parts are available. Just call the regional sales and service rep and discuss it with them. If it is not on the car and the sticker does not mention it then its just the way it goes.

In this case I bet these cars can have the wheel added after purchase at no cost to the owner.

Has anyone called to check on this?

Could be a "Dealer Add" .

Could be a mistake from the Factory or inventory shortage issue as well. it does happen. I heard of one arriving in Holland like that a month or so ago but it was rectified in short order

That is all fine and good... but how about the differential and speed Limiter?

compund Brakes also, how can we determine that they are actually there?

You could go to 155MPH, continue accelerating and then see what happens j/k

But yeah, that's a good point. One or a combination of several could be missing. How could such a simple thing turn so complicated.

On one of the other threads running 2008 c63 LSD, has someone explaining how to check if you really have LSD...its simple we just need to get the MB dealer to put the car on a lift, which I will before paying for my car thank you...

There is a black one on ebay with the Performance Package - without the steering wheel. Even the window sticker details the steering wheel.

How can they list it on the window sticker, and then not install on the car??

Thats like finding out you have the C300 motor after you drive down the road.

I saw an 09 at the dealer tonight and it also did not have the wheel but it was listed on the window sticker. Not sure what the "composite brakes" are supposed to look like but the rotors on this car were all one piece. On a porsche with composite breaks the rotors are two piece.
