I raced a BMW M3 Convertible DKG

Hi guys!

Here´s a clip when my friend wins from a rollin start and when I win from standing.

Enjoy, AMG-lovers!

The M3 convertible is a full half second slower to 60 than the hardtop. Lots of extra weight for that retractable roof.

Seems that the M3 coupe would have been equal or maybe faster from a stop. C63 definitely killed it from the rolling start. Try racing a M3 coupe next time.

not surprising. come on, it's a "race" in a straight line with a car that has significantly more power.

plus, vs. the convertible? the convertible, like Skyler said, is half a second slower.

I'd like to see a DKG coupe or sedan v. a C63 w/030

nice...

I would like to see the un-detuned C63 at 510+ HP on the 1/4 mile track. Or up against anything. That would be killer!

has anybody really seen the m3 convertible on the video? i think on the 2 minute and 51 seconds there is a white m3 sedan with black wheels seen for 3 seconds, i think it was not a convertible it was a sedan but anyways C63 can and will kick the hell out of m3 anywhere anytime and i am really waiting to see the race between the m5 in a gustav video...

I'm sure Gustav will be happy to shower you in disappointment as the M5 walks away.

haha, yup. although the 0% financing on the Z06's have been very tempting.

I've actually been posting more on M3post lately than over here...

I'd like to see a 335 twin turbo with JB3, intake and exhaust run against a C63

I ran into an m3 convt on the way home this evening. Lookwise I nearly mistook it for a 335. He pulled alongside me, stared the car up and down and then took off. I don't street race, especially in the traffic we were in, but something struck me about the M3. There I was up and down shifting listening to the music of the 63 and when the M3 took off, I heard, well, virtually nothing! It's still a great car but the sound of the 63 is just something special

I know the convertable is slower than the coupe, but it´s a nice victory anyways!

I lost against a DKG Coupe the samt day, but it wasn´t filmed.

That Coupe was crazy-fast but I was told it had been tuned a bit...

ooooo I really want a convertible next.. highly considering the m3 vert... c63 is my first choice for a sedan...

I was hoping I didnt sacrafic tooooo much speed with the extra weight..

If so, i think i'd be better off just leasing a 335i vert and chipping it..

Great bang for the buck really. New 335tt's are just as quick as the E46 M3's off the line and pull away from them easily at higher speeds. For about $3k in performance mods, you can have a 335 virtually as quick as the E90/E92 M3, probably quicker. I think BMW really screwed up. Personally I'd take a modded 335 over a new M3. And now BMW has the new 335 twin turbo diesel's coming out in a couple months for 09' which from what I read in BMW magazine are absolute torque monsters. Aftermarket companies are already working on software upgrades for the upcoming diesels which are predicted to smoke the modded gasoline 335's.

However, although I'm a BMW fan at heart, you can't beat the sound of the new AMG's. I will definitely give it that!

I have not. Is that a Vitamin Water flavor or is it called Glaceaus? I've been drinking Skinny Water and love it. They have one called Goji Fruit Punch which I have to admit, I dislike very much. My fiance's favorite is the Raspberry Pomegranate and mine is the Acai Grape which tastes much like VW's Formula 50 only lighter and more refreshing Haven't been able to get more so far this week. Every Target in my area is sold out

I'm still not a fan of the E90 sedans. IMO, if you want a sedan, C63 hands down over the M3 sedan. I'd take the M3 coupe over the CLK AMG anyday however......unless it's the Black Series! Briefly spoke to a guy at a meet recently who rolled up in a red Black Series and that is by far one of the sexiest, meanest daily drivers I've ever seen! Only thing I change are the rims. A nice set of aftermarket wheels with a deep dish back lip would just be insane.
