lots of things you dont know....
the lease terms on the BMW where better then the C63, and the sticker on the car is 20k more
its also a shorter lease, free maintenance, and the C63 was a lil tight for me as im 6'6''
i know theyre 2 completley different cars, but thanks for pointing out the obvious

Straight from MBUSA: PP Omission Memo
My dealer just called me telling me they just got a letter from MBUSA today regarding the omission of performance package items.
They are saying that the items ONLY got removed from July and August production 2009 cars and it is fixed for cars going forward.
I am trying to get a copy of the letter so I can post.
They are saying that MBUSA wants to charge $1,250 for the speed delimiter and $1,200 for the LSD and the remainder is a credit.
I am going to tell them that I am willing to pay for the LSD, but not the speed delimiter.
I will follow up when I get the memo.

unless youre michael schumacher, who really needs the speed delimiter
honestly, i wouldnt pay $100 bucks for it
the LSD for $1200 is a good deal tho.....
but what does a credit mean????
what if im not buying the car, but LEASING it
can i apply that towards the payments????

in all honesty, they should throw in the Speed Delimiter for FREE
i was willing to pay 3990 for EVERYTHING, im sure most ppl wernt getting the PP because of the Speed delimiter
its a spit in the face trying to charge us more for a delimiter then the LSD
so let me get this straight
LSD =1200
delimiter =1250
Brakes, suspension and wheel only cost $1450 combined ?????????????
YEA OOOOKKKAAAAAYYYYYYYYY
they are only trying to charge 1250 for the delimiter cuz they F'ed up and they dont wanna give the whole PP away for 1200
so they are trying to tell us Speed Delimiter cost 1250
it probably costs MB LESS to not have to add an electronic limiter
after all non-PP cars require an electric limiter
PPs dont have this
this is really messed up
ANYONE want my C63 ?

I just heard back from MBUSA (wow that was fast ), anyway she said that yes indeed the current PP cars will arrive exactly as stated in the initial post of this thread. That we will indeed be getting a refund (she could not tell me the exact amount). Here is the fun part - how the refund is issued depends on the dealer. She could not tell me whether they take it right off the sticker or just issue a refund check, etc. We need to contact our specific dealers for this information.
Other pertinent info: MBUSA cannot access our specific cars until they are processed after unloading from the ship and are issued US VIN's. There is no way to pull up the equipment on your car until it has a US VIN. Your dealer should know what is missing once it is processed and has a US VIN.

Frankly, if I were in the market for a C63 I'd jump at one of those for a discount. The LSD is by far the most important thing to me. Two-piece rotors with the same calipers are not a huge deal and I've been a bit leery about the PP suspension being too stiff, especially for a daily driver. Alcantara is cool as headliner, but the feel of suede in my hands makes my skin crawl.
Yep, the base C63 with a cheap LSD would be my ideal configuration. Hopefully by the time we're ready to retire the wife's C55 it will be orderable.

These are the best parts of the performance package for sure. The rest of it is just poser stuff IMO. Even Porsche's PCCB are not the preferred setup with track nuts. Replacement costs are too high.

Well my car got the the dealer today, guess what NOT WHAT I ORDERED!!! No steering wheel, brakes, ect. I am going to the dealer tomorrow to take a look at the car and see what it looks like and see what the dealer will do for me because MBUSA won't do $#!T thats for sure.
I am going to ask my dealer for the FULL $3990.00 discount. $1540.00 of that is a freebie rebate that cost them nothing, $1250.00 is for the speed limit witch means nothing by itself. If you get a ECU upgrade from anybody, thats a freebie. As for the $1200.00 LSD, I guess it is wroth it considering the time and trouble of getting one aftermarket and installing it. I guess I would settle for paying the $1200.00 for the dif, but I will start out by asking for the full discount. That credit is still a rip off because it would cost you WAY MORE to buy the OEM compound rotors, shocks, springs and steering wheel from the part department or the aftermarket for that matter. Full Brembo type Kit $3500 - $6500 , steering wheel $800 - $850, shocks springs $1500 - $3500 ABOUT.
So any way you stack it up the customer still gets the short end of the stick. My dealer seemed truly sorry but as for MB they are NOT. Do I realy want to buy a car from a company the suck a quality control system at there factory.
Not sure what to do

True that. What a bunch of A$$ CLOWNS at MB / AMG. Thats like building and shipping a car all the way to the U.S. only to fine once the car gets to the dealer the steering rack is mounted on the right hand side. Way to go MB, you people are stupid!!! fro this problem to have never been seen in pre or post production shows stupidy or they just don't give a $#!T.
Glock, do you think MBUSA got their stuff together and made this announcement after your phone call yesterday? Pretty quick results actually!
I think once you get behind the wheel and fire it up, and hear that amazing sound, you will forget about this stuff!
Maybe MB is just being smart here. After all, wouldn't US customers just complain that their alcantara wheel is wearing, their fancy brakes are squealing, and the carbon fiber is scratched... oh yeah, and "the suspension's too stiff" then ask for a refund anyway?

Troy,
I've already talked to my salesman's boss and she is talking to the regional manager. I've told them that while I could see paying for the LSD, that I was willing to pay full MSRP and I've seen posts about others paying less. I suggested that they should waive any costs related to the PP and I would still pay full MSRP for everything else.
I'll let you know what they say.
PS: I'm still excited about the car and am willing to still pay for the LSD at $1,200, but I'm not paying $1,250 for a speed limited increase... Won't happen...
